food was ok, place was nice, especially a summer wedding.. place is small so if you are planning on a small wedding, this place will fit your needs.

Re: Riviera at Massapequa Tell me the Good and the Bad
I am having my wedding reception there in March. Vickie and Michelle are great to work with. They gave us a tasting before we signed and it was great. The prices are more than reasonable including top shelf open bar, small centerpieces and the cake and viennesse hour. We are upgrading the menu for both the cocktail hour and dinner. They are allowing us to bring in a cigar roller and I'm hoping they get their own chocolate waterfall before March.

I'm another Riviera bride! You can do a search on here for the Riviera and find lots of posts on it. The vast majority of posts were positive. We're having our reception and outdoor ceremony there. kmcwed had an indoor ceremony there - here's a link to her review.
The food at my tasting was very good! And we just love how romantic and charming the place is. We have worked with Kristie, Michelle and Robert Jay who have all been sweethearts. We can't wait to get married there!
ETA: From what I've heard, if you don't want it to be too cramped, keep your guest list to a 150 maximum.
mlp924 - I would LOVE it if they got a chocolate fountain!! (If they don't, I want to rent one!) Maybe we can get all of the Riviera girls on here to sign a petition or something.

Re: Riviera at Massapequa Tell me the Good and the Bad
I was at a wedding there last week and it was great. It was Nov 1st and 70 degrees out so the cocktail hour was outside. The foot was really good too.You should check it out but the place is small so if you are having a lot of guest (over 200) I'd be wary! Good luck!

Re: Riviera at Massapequa Tell me the Good and the Bad
Another Riviera bride here! I have heard many great things about the place from many different people, they are great to work with over there and the food is good. Some people dont like the style of the place. Its understandable that someone looking for a place like Chateu Briand or Villa's probably wont like the Riviera because the setting is so different. All of these places are very nice, but just a completely different atmosphere. Keep it in mind though!

Re: Riviera at Massapequa Tell me the Good and the Bad
Like someone just said if you are looking for your typical hall dont go for teh Riviera b/c tyical its not. Thats a bad or a good thing depending n you. I love it and wanted different b./c I will have been to 8 weddings in the 18 months before my own wedding and i want DIFFERENT!Its very dark wood inside, no mirrors or marble floors. two georgeous fireplaces on either side of teh dance floor. The outdoor space for a cocktail hour is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
The price is great and th people are AWESOME to work with.I tasted teh food as well and thought it was good.
Any other questions just post away or FM me!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Riviera at Massapequa Tell me the Good and the Bad
We are getting married at the Riviera as well and I personally have been to weddings there in the past and they were all great. Michelle is the best their is not enough space on this page for me to express how great she has been to us. I just Love, Love this place it is everything we wanted in a reception hall. The one piece of advice I do have and this is for anyone, go with your gut feeling just like anything else when you find the right place you will feel it!!!!!!!
GODD LUCK
