Shoe Boxes of Love

Just wanted to share this! For the past few years FH & I have been taking part in this outreach and it's amazing. All you do is take a shoebox and fill it with items for children. you indicate what sex & age group you bought the items for and then you drop it off @ a drop-off location & they get delivered to children around the world. The deadline is nov. 23rd. Please FM me with any questions, I will be happy to help, I will post the link to the website....I had tears streaming down my face when I Saw the video coverage of the children opening the shoe boxes. It's such a great way to give something back!

Hey guys, this is the first time I am able to check the board today!! Thanks for the interest! I did post this on the charity board

good idea

FH did a box for a little boy & I did one for a little girl---the age ranges are 2-4, 5-9 or
10-14. So he got matchbox cars, playing cards, a small NERF football, GI JOE puzzle, playdoh, and candy and some more little boy stuff! And for the girl I did some strawberry shortcake stuff, barbie mini puzzle, hello kitty stuff....it's so nice!! We are going to add some school supplies, they also ask for hygiene items like toothbrushes and tooth paste and stuff like that. And you can even put your name and picture and a note in the box and sometimes the children write back!! Let me know if you need help!

WOW!! I just looked at the website and the tears are streaming!! That is an amazing way to help out less fortunate kids. You should feel so proud of yourself for being a part of this. Your an angel!!!

awwww..thank you sweetie! that is so nice of you!! We wished we couldn've done a 100 boxes--it's just so cool to think of the little kids opening the gifts.

That's the thought I had....imagining those kids opening those boxes from total strangers, but feeling so loved and knowing someone is thinking of them. That truly is so wonderful!!!

AWESOME! did you see that you can print out the label & form off the website so you can make sure it goes to the right sex/age group? pleeeease let me know if I can help you or if you need help finding a place to drop if off!!

Its all set up with the label (boy, ages 5-9) on the outside and form and check in the envelope inside. I posted all the stuff I included on the Charity forum
