I hate the US Post Office ..they lost some invitations!!

I hate the US Post Office ..they lost some invitations!!

Without giving away my sister, AliasPook's bridal shower info, ... because it is a surprise, but she knows I mailed them.........
I mailed 88 invitations and so far 5 people never got them. I am freaking out!!
I am going around getting email addresses and phone numbers so I can verify that they actually got one.
I mailed them from the mail slot at work. Why did I bother buying beautiful invitations, buying stamps, and going through the trouble of mailing them if only certain people were going to receive them? I don't have any of the pretty ones I originally sent (I had them printed) and I will have to buy a another pack of invites that are the not the same. This stinks...

This happened to me when I threw my MOH's shower. Half the people on her DH's side didn't get their invitations. I didn't bother re-sending them though, I just called them all (ugh!) and gave them the information. It stinks though!

ETA: I LOVE those invitations!

My dad is a Mailman and I can tell you why the mail gets lost COMPUTERS. The mail doesn't get sorted by humans in the big facilities like Melville, Hicksville etc. (only by your mailman). My dad said he gets mail for his route that is for other routes and even other towns and states.

Don't blame the mailmen, blame the stupid higher ups in the post office who decided to sort the mail with computer scanners so it would be faster.

Yeah makes you wonder with some of the stuff they do - My parents recieved a letter mailed from California to someone in ENGLAND!! The name wasn't even close, the address wasn't even close - and it was the WRONG country!

The other day FH received a bill for someone that the Hicksville post office fowarded to him from someone with a completely different name and whose original address was no where NEAR where he used to live.

That is only two instances - I have people who to this day never recieved our e-party invites and yet they haven't been returned to us yet.

I think that they get delivered to someone else by mistake and that person might open it not looking at the name and then throw then in the garbage!

One of my wedding thank you cards never got to my friend. I asked her if she recieved it and she said 'no' so I sent another one. She got it 3 days later.
Well.. 3 Months later I got the original returned from to me with address unknown stamped across it. The address was correct. I don't know why!
