flower girls NOT in White - is that ok ?

I wasn wondering if it would look ok if I had my flower girls in lilac instead of white..my bridesmaid dresses are going to be a deep purple, and my jr bmaid probably a medium purple, i wanted only my mini bride to be in white....how does that sound ?? (Early october of this year)

Has anyone been to the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville for a wedding ? How is it ? I've been there for dinner and really liked it but wasnt sure about getting married there..any good suggestions..wedding will most likely be this October, either afternoon or evening, i'm open..and i'm thinking about getting married outdoors at the place....

Anyone have a guest that didn't bring a gift? I have someone on the husband's side who told me she forgot the check at home and would mail it....waiting...waiting...waiting....my husband is crazed and wants to call...is that right? or just chalk it up to our loss and bad manners on their part?

I thin that's fine. I think it will be really pretty to have them in varying shades of purple gettng lighter as they get younger. Very cute.

If brides can wear pink, silver and blue - I think your flower girls can wear light purple!

It sounds beautiful - and will make for wonderful contrast in your photos! :)

But in the end - as was posted before - a gift is a gift. If I had to choose, I'd rather have them there without a gift then not at all!

My friend must got married in April. Her bridesmaids wore navy and her flower girl wore the same style dress in lilac. The flowers were all pink, blue and lavendar. It was beautiful. I don't know what a mini bride is, but it sounds as if she should be the only other one in white besides you.

A mini bride is a little girl, usually from one year old (which mine is) to about 3yrs old, and she dresses in a little white dress, some people have her walk in with a little boy about her size but i dont have any little boys in the family...i dont even think i'mgonna get a veil for her, she hates having things on her head !! but its a great idea !! have fun planning !!

Someone mentioned writing peoples names on post its so you can move them around..

I am having my flower girl wear a lighter yellow than the bridesmaid so I think it is fine...My maid of honor is wearing lavender I want her to stick out jsut because she is 10...But yeah they dont have to wear white. Misty

We paid for our wedding ourselves too. And it was difficult. I agonized over every $100. We had a nice wedding with 85 of our friends and family. And we had a few guests that came but could not afford to cover their plates.

I am so glad you had such good things to say about the Miller Place Inn. I'm having my wedding there next May and I love it. It's good to hear someone who had their wedding there that liked it!

I agree you should not budget on what you think you might get, believe me we sure didn't.

The 10 year old is my little sister....She is so excited.....She is the only one wearing lavender and I am having her carry the same bouquet as me just a smaller version....And also her dress is the only one that resembols mine.......She is so excited she calles and wants to know what her job is again.....And wants to know what all she is the only one that gets to do...She is so cute...Talk to you later Misty

My girls were in Navy Blue and my flower girl was in all white. It's fine. They look adorable in white.

The place is also beautiful. Depending on what month you're looking at getting married you can have the cocktail hour outside which overlooks the golf course and the Great South Bay. We also had our international coffee and liquer bar out there as well. The people are so nice and helpful. They made my day a pleasure!

As you can see, I highly recommend it!
