Jelly bags??

I passed a fake handbag guy the other night walking home from work and saw a bag that was nice looking so I asked about the price. With that I heard this lady commenting to her friend about some 'jelly bags' that they had there for sale for $40 but the real bags were on sale in the dept stores for $300. They looked like rubberized medium sized backpacks to me (maybe not backpacks but from my angle thats what they looked like).

Are these bags the 'new thing'? I thought they looked very '80's' to me. They were in neon colors. Has anyone seen them? Just curious.

ETA: OK did a search. They're Jelly Kelly bags. And not $300, but about $165. That's better. I can't see myself buying one, unless I went out alot. That way if a drink spilt on it I can wipe it off. But knowing me I'd get pen marks on it that would never come off. I am so bad about stuff like that.

Does anyone have one? Are they durable? Does anyone have a fake one and how do those last? Maybe I'll get my sister one.

This jelly is the NEW fabric- next season be prepared to see a lot of this floating around. I personally don't like it though.

Really? Is it just rubber or is it something else made to look like rubber? I don't know if I like it either. In the pastel colors, it's nice, but I think I'll stick with leather.
