Do you think I should wear gloves with my dress?

This is it. I am just worried how they will look. I have fat arms and I don't want them to look stupid. What do ya think? Do you think not wearing them will take away from the dress? They look nice on the gal in the picture. My mom thinks I should wear them because it will be cold.

I like the look in the pic but if you are not comfortable in them, they won't look right.

I do think the gloves look nice with your dress, but it will look pretty without gloves too! Why don't you try on a pair to see how you like them? If you don't like them on - don't get them! But if you're unsure, you could always buy a pair so you'll have them just in case.

that looks like my dress - good choice!! I got mine at Davids Bridal. I'm not wearing gloves - but I think that it is totally personal preference.

Your dress is absolutely beautiful. I voted yes on the gloves, they look really pretty with that gown. I also voted yes because your getting married in February (if that has anything to do with it..).. JMO

I think that I read somewhere that gloves depend on the formality of the wedding. If it's an evening wedding then you should (especially with that dress!) but if it's an day wedding like mine you might want to go semi-formal. Also, if you are worried about the gloves on the top part of your arms...have your seamstress add a tiny piece of elastic to the inside seam of the gloves. It will keep it from making marks on your arms!!

Doesn't the store where you got the dress have a pair of gloves for you to try on to see how it will look?

really, try on a pair and have someone take your picture, and see what they look like. Unless the top of your arms are very heavy and the bottom of your arms very skinny, I think they would look fine. Personally, I think gloves are very classic - I took mine off sometime during the reception, so I have pics with both.

I personally do not like gloves with any dress. But that is just my opinion. If you feel more comfortable in gloves because you think you have a heavier arm then you should do it. I love your dress!

I might be wearing gloves with my dress but same as Jpsgirl, I plan on taking them off during the reception. If I decide to wear them. I don't want to overkill with accessories.

I think gloves will look good with your dress. I think gloves are elgant especailly for an evening wedding. Try them on and see if you like them. Do what makes you comfortable.

For those who wore gloves what did you do when you exchanged rings? Take the glove off?

Ok, I am in the same dilemma -- gloves or not. I personally hate my arms. I feel like the gloves, on me, accentuated the upper arm. So, for warmth, I am buying white short gloves that have fur around the wrist. I saw them in JCPenneys for $10.99. I plan on wearing them for the car ride etc and in between photo site/reception. That's it. I do agree with the post that said try them on and have someone take your picture.

If you are going to be self-conscious about how you look in them, then do not wear them. You do not need anything extra to drive you nuts.

If you would like to, maybe you can get sheer ones as a nice compromise. Also, they will not fit so tightly & will not enhance latger arms like a shiny satin or silk might.

I say if you like them, then go for it, but if you are only doing it b/c someone else told you to, then think about if it will drive you nuts!

I like the look of gloves. I say try on a bunch of pairs so you know that they fit you properly and aren't too tight.
