New to Scrapbooking...Questions!

Hi Ladies,

I want to make a scrapbook for my dad's 50th birthday this month. I know it is short on time, but I will get as much done as I can. I picked out 50 or so pictures of my family throughout the years and will narrow them down as I go. I was thinking of doing various pages such as: family vacations, holidays, births, kids w/ dad, whole family shots, sports we've all done, etc. What do you think of the page ideas? Question: Should the pages all match in style, but have different themes, or should they all be completely different? I will also include some drawings/letters/cards we have done as children, and whatever other memory items I can dig up. Also, what are some basic materials I will need? Any help is greatly appreciated! I feel as though I'm diving into a botomless pool headfirst!!

anything pretty much goes
you can match if you like and do a theme throughout the book or a theme for each page

I helped my mom with a mini- SB. We used a presentation binder from Staples with sheet protectors in it- it was about $4. They have 2 one holds 24 papges and the other either 12 or 48. Don't remember.
