Need advice..tomorrow is the RSVP date and still missing a few...
How do I approach this? There are still quite a few people who we have not heard from. How much more time do I give them? What do I say when I call them, I feel funny about calling. I feel like I should just leave it alone, but Id hate to have people show up , like maybe they sent in an RSVP and maybe I never got it. I just dont know the correct way to handle this!! Thanks!!

I think you're supposed to wait a few days to receive any RSVPs that were sent *on* the RSVP date, and then you can give a call to say that you hadn't heard from them and would love for them to attend, will they be coming, etc.But how exciting for you! You are so close!

I agree with Shawl, wait like a week and then call. Alot of times people just forget to send it back or leave it in a draw somewhere. Just say that you need to have a final count and hope that they could come so you would just like to know, that's all. It's ok to call!!

Re: Need advice..tomorrow is the RSVP date and still missing a few...
I would call tomorrow, on the RSVP date. If they sent it in the mail, great, they will tell you so. Your invites didn't say the RSVP had to be 'postmarked by'. You put the date that you wanted to know by, not the date you wanted them to put it in the mail. So what if they crinkle their noses a little at you calling ON the RSVP date?? It's not going to change their decision to attend or not and at least it will ease your nerves a bit to KNOW. When it comes to RSVPing -- I cut people NO slack!!
They are the ones who are rude for the RSVPing on time, NOT YOU for calling!!

I am in the same boat as you. My advice to you...CALL THEM. I did this were some responses I got:'I completely forgot I have been sooooo busy'
'I am not sure who my date is going to be yet'
'I mailed it out last week'
....Which is better than the other reponses because this is the USPS fault and you may never get that response because it is lost.

I am going to say wait about 2 days after the response date- a week would be torture
I went through this and I was not happy
Some people are just lazy and inconsiderate and you have to politely call them on it

My RSVP date was November 30th and my wedding is 12/31 (IN three weeks). DO you know I am still trying to hunt down 4 people who still have not responded. How RUDE!!! I say call them , bother them, do whatever you have to do cause you are the one who is paying for these people in the end.

I would wait about 3 days then call people. You shouldn't feel funny and you need to know.Just tell them you never received it and need a head count for the caterer, blah blah blah.

Re: Need advice..tomorrow is the RSVP date and still missing a few...
I would wait a week. It's such a busy time of year and people have a lot on their minds. While your wedding si the most important thing in your life, it may not be at the forefront of their thoughts. JMO.I tend to be one of those people who often forget, or send late. It doesn't mean that I'm a bad person...

Thanks everyone for your advice!!!!Jimmys bride..you are so funny, and I think I have to agree with you, it is so rude, they have known the wedding date for over a year, they have had 6 weeks for the RSVP date, if they were coming, how hard is it to fill out a card and stick it in the mail. Its funny, because all of the people who are late to RSVP are people who we rarely talk to anyhow, relatives, so it tells me who is really excited for us and who isnt. Ill give them a day and then Ill call, I have enougt stress to have to worrya bout this, we are paying for this ourselves and we have to pay the majority of it right before christmas, so if they didnt RSVP, its no sweat off my back, they wont come and my FH and I will have more spending money!!!
