Photographer Help (Sorry long)

We've been looking at photographers, and we loved the first one we saw. We didn't book right away because we wanted to check out a few more first. Then I had a death in the family and had to postpone those appointments. Well, we didn't like anyone better than the first photographer, and in the meantime, they booked someone else for our date. I am so upset. I wish we had just booked them right away.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a photographer that does a combination of traditional posed pictures and photojournalistic pictures?

Thanks so much.

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

I don't know which photographer you had your heart set on but have you looked at Duet or Patken?

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

Twelfth Night! They don't include albums in their packages, but he can do albums and he can also teach you how to make your own. His prices are so reasonable you can even hire two photographers (we had a very small photo budget and can afford to do this), one to do exclusively traditional and one to do exclusively photojournalistic. He also does digital. On top of it all, he is very honest. He encouraged my FH and I to get a less expensive package. How is that for a vendor?

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

We did check out Patken. I wasn't crazy about the idea that we wouldn't meet our photographer before we booked. I will look into Duet. Thanks!

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

We've looked at Patken, Cousins Photography (in Huntington, recommended by a friend, but not really our style), Spelman and Imagine. Imagine is who we wanted to book. I know we've only looked at a few, but everyone's style was so different and we really liked Imagine's style. Now we will start over... We would prefer to have our video from the same company as the albums also.

Thanks for your responses.

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

we looked at VIP, Duet, Patken and Micheal O'Neill in norhtport.

O'Neill does really nice work (all digital) but it was more than we wanted to spend.

We werent crazy about Patken,
and we ran into the same issue as you did with Duet (they became booked while we made our decision) but they were really good!

A bunch of us are using VIP you can do a search and see peoples proofs.

A friend of mine (drewsgirl) is using Marco Photography for both and she got a really good package.

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

I'm using Mark Kaufman (Angelica Studios) and I can't rave enough about the work his studio does. We watned more photojournalistic than posed, but he has photographers that do posed too.

So sorry to hear you did not get to book Imagine, that is who I was going to recommend. Hope you find someone that suits your style and your buget. Happy planning.

Re: Photographer Help (Sorry long)

How about Imagine ? I love love love their work!

Another photographer I liked was Micheal Rosengard of North Island Photography . He's all digital though and I didn't like that I wouldn't get negatives and would have to go to him for all reprints.
