My friend is Greek Orthodox & I went to her wedding in REading PA last night. What a wedding! There were over 620 people there (63 tables!!! Imagine the seating plan!!!)

Fireworks after ceremony, three piece band in one room and barbershop quartet in the other during CH, all of the place cards were attached to christmas ornaments and decorated trees when you entered (about 10-12 christmas trees set up) girls were handing out shots of ouzo before we even got into the cocktail hour. There were two bands for reception--a regular one and then a greek one for when the other took breaks.

I could go on and on--the whole thing was incredible, but because I'm planning my own wedding, I just think that it must've been logistical insanity

Needless to say it was a lot of fun...

Thank goodness my Greek Wedding is only 120. That sounds like a nightmare to plan but a lot of fun to attend!

My Greek wedding was 220 and I thought that was alot...of course it was also half Irish too! My parents have been to weddings like that - one was 700 people. I don't even know 700 people!!

The largest Greek wedding I've ever attended had almost 500 people. It the our priest's daughter. It was really too big and the couple spent more time going around chatting that you hardly saw them dancing at all. I really think that was one wedding where the guests had more fun that the bride and groom.
