Hair loss due to stress

Did anyone else loose their hair because of all of the stress associated with planning the wedding?
Around the time of my engagement party (Sept 02) I noticed that I was getting a bald spot in the middle of my head!!!!! There was LOTS of tension and stress between me and my MIL...
It got worse and worse as I got closer to the wedding.. I had to go to the dermotologist for shots very three weeks up until the wedding! I was SO worried I was going to be bald on my wedding day! The dr. told me it was totally stress related.
Now that all of the stress is over with, and I can actually sit back and enjoy being married, my hair is growing back! I am just wondering if anyone else experienced this? Or know of anyone who this happened to?

Re: Hair loss due to stress

The EXACT same thing happened to one of my BMs after her wedding. She wound up with a bald spot in the middle of her head and the dr said it was stress related with all the wedding plans plus they'r emoving to a different state and quitting their jobs.

FYI, if you take pre-natal vitamins your hair will grow back quicker and stronger. I did this b/c I had lost my hair due to medical reasons and it totally worked.

Re: Hair loss due to stress

That happened to me during our move. I was so streessed selling my coop and buying our house that I got two bald spots on the side of my head. My hairdresser noticed them when she was 'refreshing' my color. I had one round of shots and my hair grew back. No problems since then.

Funny thing my brother and male cousin both had stress induced bald spots in the same exact spot on their heads at one time or another. Genetics are amazing.

Re: Hair loss due to stress

I've heard of this. Actually, several years ago I thought I was noticing a lot more hair on my brush than usual during a bad time with stress.

B-vitamins and Zinc work wonders for it. I'm sure the prenatals are great, too! I was taking something called Stress-Tabs with Zinc. You can get it at the drug store or supermarket. It did the trick, and made my nails healthier too!
