Spinoff from PMS post - do you feel bad for everything?
I feel bad for EVERYTHING - put it this way. A man came into my office lobby on one of the very very cold days last week. He was middle aged, reminded me of my dad and had no gloves on. I work on 34th St so it is very busy on the street. I could tell he just stepped inside to catch his breath and use his cell phone for a minute. The receptionist snapped at him to get out right away!
I just felt bad for him although I understand it is private property. I thought of this man for days because he reminded me of my dad!! And then I was thinking, Oh poor thing, he must be out on an interview, has been out of work for a while...(he looked kind of disheleveled like he was out of practice)...Don't get me started on stray animals...or the homeless people in the train station....or any type of middle aged or elderly person (esp men for some reason). I feel sorry for everyone and if I see something it will bug me for days on end. My FIL calls me a 'bleeding heart'.

You just described me to a T! Literally....THAT IS ME!ETA: I feel bad for the guy that plays the piano in the lobby of our building b/c I feel like he comes in everyday and plays his heart out and no one even notices....everyone is just too wrapped up in themselves and just walks right by him w/o so much as a glance....

That would be me too. I always feel bad for everyone. I cry over ridiculous things like the Christmas trees that don't get sold and are just left laying in the lot the day after Christmas. I realize this is completely ridiculous but nothing I can do about it. I have been like this my whole life.

I am an emotional DISASTER for an entire week. Just the other day I cried b/c my puppy was crying in his crate and I made the mistake of watching my wedding video.........I cried a river.I cry when I see kids standing outside in the cold waiting for the bus - that gets me every time. I want to just pull over and let them sit in my car until the bus comes.
I'm so emotional and supersensitive and always have been.

Add me to the super sensitive list!!! Years and years ago, I ran into a older man at Macy's who gave me some coupons for McDonald's!!! I was panicked because I did not see my mom and thought I lost her so I was preoccupied and did not say thank you. My mom asked me if I said thank you to the nice man to which I replied I didn't. I swear I cried nonstop for a few weeks after this thinking about the nice man and his nice gesture and how mean I was!!! I think my parents thought about committing me!!!!ETA: When I was a teacher, the thing that got me the most were the kids who had little or no friends, you know the ones who were always sitting by themselves at lunch!!! Just the thought of it has me crying!!

I am so like that, there was an older homeless man that used to sit on the corner by my old job and hold a teddy bear, my heart used to break every time I saw him out there in the cold. I get sad just thinking about it. I am a total 'bleeding heart' as DH calls me, but where would the world be without sappy empathatic people like us?

Re: Spinoff from PMS post - do you feel bad for everything?
that's like my hubby to a certain degree. he can't bear to see an old person doing any sort of manual labor. he feels SO guilty afterwards for leading a comfortable lifestyle while old men are out on the side of the street at 4am selling newspapers. i feel bad too, but he starts feeling guilty.

OMG there are others out there like me. I would totally have to make a point out of making friends with the piano man, I swear!! Supersensitive beyond belief.

Re: Spinoff from PMS post - do you feel bad for everything?
OMG! I am so like each and every one of you! But this is me all the time, not just during PMS. I cry over homeless people, elderly people who look lonely or who are out of it, if an older person trips or when they cant count out their money in the store..ugh, i start crying right there and then!I cry at work when I see kids sick or sad for some reason. I even cry when a person has a twitch..it just makes me so upset..my dh makes fun of me for being like this but then tells me its one of the reasons he fell in love with me.
