Church wont let me throw rose petals down the aisle

because of past law-suits with people slipping... any other suggestions?

My flower girls just carried FG baskets with little boquets in them. They looked very cute and no one missed them throwing the petals

I know but I think it's just because they probably don't want to deal
with the clean-up anyways that's why I decided just to get those
bk's in the shape of a ball and you hold on to them with the satin ribbon
(I don't know the exact name of it) they will be made up of roses.
but that's only if they are affordable, I heard they can be expensive
anyone know how much?

I think that ball thing is called a pomander or something like that. I think that would be beautiful for the girls to carry. when i was a bridesmaid for my aunt, i kept my bouquet for years, so something like that would be a nice memory and would preserve well, too.

Personally, I intend on using rose petals and claiming that they were brought by an uninformed guest who thought it was a nice gesture. What can they do to you AFTER they are thrown?

I forgot to mention before that one of my friends who got married two
years ago she wasn't allowed throw petals so what she did was
have the fg's throw them when they were announced in the reception
hall. and while they were having their first dance, the two girls went
around them throwing petals. It was really cute and gave them the
opportunity to use the petals.

My church wont let rose petals be throw either. Their reasoning is different. They dont hae any one to clean it up-silly huh

You could have the girls hand out single flowers ( like roses or tulips, etc) to a few of the guest standing near the aisle as they walk down.

There's an old tradition of ringing bells to announce the arrival of the bride. Maybe you could have your FG's carry a little bell and ring you in?

Maybe have them blow bubbles?

I like the bell idea...but I think that a church mught also have a problem with the bubbles bc of the soapy water.

I thought of that after I posted it. For some reason I forgot that they fall to the ground!
