Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

I happen to really like this look. I think it depends on how many BM's you are having though. IMO, it's kinda hard to pull off if you have a large bridal party. I'd have to see pics, but I think more than 2 colors (even the same shade) may not look right.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

Not only am i doing different colors, i am doing different dresses!!! I have been in so many weddings that I know what i have always wanted to do for my bridesmaids. since it is a summer wedding, i can get away with it more than if it were a winter wedding. but a daytime wedding seems like it is more lenient. so i am having my girls do tea length dresses with lace/embroidery. i want them to be able to wear the dress again and i know that a dress that looks nice on one person looks wretched on another and i need to respect that. They choose and i have final decision.

I completely agree. I LOVE the tea length dresses and want my MOH and BM's to be able to wear the dresses again.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

I'm getting married around Easter and someone suggested different colored pastel dresses might be cute. I was also thinking of doing a black and white wedding with some of the dresses in black and white, and some of the dresses in black, two of my bridesmaids will be pregnant so that it what sparked the different dress idea

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

My friend Dee had her BMs in the same dress in different colors, and it looked GREAT! The coolest thing was that the GM who escorted each BM wore a matching vest in his Tux.

I really liked that idea.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

I was in a wedding where the bride had us in different color dresses. They were the same style. I think she went with light blue,lavender/pink,and a deeper pink.

Edited the dresses looked great. and her pics look very nice too.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

I had my HEART set on doing this for a long time - even before I was engaged! I wanted my rainbow pastel colors - unfortunately - the dress that me and my whole BP fell in love with has horrible colors - not separately - but if using more than one - they just didn't go. No other dress we found even compared to the first one! SO - I haven't ordered eyt - but I am slowly getting used to the idea that I am prob not going to do this anymore- I am still planning on having my 'rainbow pastel look' with the flowers.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

What I am doign is a mix and match or finding a designer that makes a bunch of different dresses in the same fabric or color.

Also, you can do different shades of the same color. That would like nice.

Re: different colored bridesmaid dresses

I was thinking of actually doing two different colors for the BM dresses and a two tone dress for the MOH dress but not sure yet.
