little tikes kitchen set...pets and other ?S

hey girls need your advice on 2 things

i hope the computer doesnt crap out on me like it has once already while I was typing this

there is a little tykes kitchen set that J played with a TON while we were at my SILS for xmas. COuld not fit it in the van to take it home with us since it is something liek 42 inches long...so I could not sit inthe back of the van next to J for the ride home...at lease not with my legs attached

anyway, someone has the same one posted in the local paper...and its about $60- should we get it? also the hubby said his wife has another set that is smaller ( I mentioned that I have a small room) and that is by Calico? those measurements are smaller but I never heard of them. The big one that I am familiar with, will take a a big enuf space in our living room...seems that our house is getting smaller and smaller with Juliannes stuff!
what do you think

also, rob has 2 noisy loud parrots. No matter how many time you sweep up there is either seeds, food or doody around that big cage. I suggested today that we move it into another room ( so that this ckitchen can go in that space)...but the 2 suggestions I came up with were vetoed by him. Then I bit the bullet and opened my big mouth and said0- lets move them to someone elses home
that seems to not be an option

he is very attached to them. I understand that, I do ...even tho I hate these birds.
any suggestions?
it is a matter of days b4 J scoots down the hallway, pulls herself up on this cage and gets bit by the birds...or eats something she shouldnt

UGH and YUCK

help!1

Re: little tikes and parrots

Is the cage door open for the birds to come out? I have an african grey who is not real friendly either. I just got a seed catcher for the bottom of the cage. It is hard to describe but it is a metal piece that 'v''s out from the cage by the bottom (where the food and poops drop into). I am hoping that my bird wont be able to slide down past the catcher to slide down the legs of the cage. He has a habit of 'escaping' from the cage (he slides down the legs of the cage slowly and walks across the floor, it looks like he is sneeking out of the cage). Once I have a baby, I don't know what I will do to stop the baby from putting fingers by the cage.

What kind of birds are they?

Re: little tikes kitchen set...pets and other ?S

Here is a link to the kitchen Annalise got as a 1st birthday gift. You can fold it up between uses if you want. It is one of the few toys she REALLY loves. It even makes the sizzle and boil sounds.

That fold up one sounds very cool!! My 3 yr has this one that we found at a garage sale for $10 in mint condition

Kitchen

and she also has this one that she loves and it doesn't take up as much room

I hope this pics work since this is my first attempt at doing this.

$60 seems high for a used set since new is about $70. I don't know where you live but there is a place called Fun Stuff Toys in Bohemia on Veterans Highway that sells all Little Tikes stuff for cheaper than regular stores.

Re: little tikes kitchen set...pets and other ?S

I have a kings cage too. Your husband should call Kings Cages and see if they still have the seed catchers for older model cages. I have to put mine on the cage this weekend. My bird is a wimp, he is afraid of his own shadow...LOL I hope this doesn't scare him too much.

update

hi gals...
we went looking around yesterday at TRU and buybuybaby..., walmart, target (both of whcih dont carry it in store at the lcoations we went to )

$55 for a setin excellant condition really is NOT bad...when the set originally costs over $100...in the $140-$160 range. (YIKES I know)

we seem to like the dream kitchen model..it is smaller thatn the ultimate model- not as long or wide...but still has enough drawers at her level that she can 'play' putting the food in and out with...and then later when she stands, it has enough going on above (micro, sink, phone, cabinent) to interest her.

WE saw the fold up one and didnt like it...looked nice but not what we wanted. ...
looks like once we can fine a plac eethat has a list price UNDERr $139 we will buy it

I dont know where that dtore is that was referred to above...we live in Long Beach...dont know if any of you know of places not far from us that discount Little Tikes or step 2. We haven't really turned up anything thru the internet

guess we will search around for a while...

ree:parrots. Yeah I guess I can mention that to ROb again...but HONESTLY I would rather see these birds go to another loving home...

thanks gals...let me know if you have any leads

Re: little tikes kitchen set...pets and other ?S

There's a place called Fun stuff toys on Merrick Road in Wantagh, I didnt realize there was more than one store.

Im not sure the set you are referring to since I'm out of the loop on girl stuff but Walmart at Sunrise Mall had a bunch of Little Tikes toys on sale. For girls they had the Vanity and the Tea party Kitchen (I think that's the name) and they were $20 each. I think they are usually $50 or 60. I was there on Thursday and they had quite a few.

Re: little tikes kitchen set...pets and other ?S

I checked out the FS site- the 'cooking Fun' interactive kitchen is $80 more than TRU!///

and the Step 2 lifestyle kitchen is $10 more...$149.

I guess I will keep on looking
