I believe that they have to use one of the make-up days that the state schedules at the end of the week but I am not 100% positive.

this happened a few years ago (99?) where there was a state wide storm and most schools were closed (of course not NYC) but they rescheduled the regents tests for March

Good to know...My chairperson doesn't think the exam will be cancelled. I, of course, an extremely nervous! We shall see!

I am. I teach in a Catholic school and we close pretty regularly in the snow; however, my principal said that we will absolutely NOT close unless NYC public schools do.

That weather makeup day is on Friday, but I was under the impression it is only for the school midterms.

I'm always up for a snow day, but NOT THIS WEEK!!!!

This coming week is Regents and RCT's for HS students in several subjects. Most of the time, the NYC schools stay open during snow storms. I don't know what they will do if it's bad this week with all the testing going on. My school didn't mention anything about the weather.

I don't know if this offers any sort of help, but when we had the storm in December & January, the SAT's were cancelled & also the LSAT's.

Re: Any High School English Teachers given the English Regents this week? (M)

My principal made an announcement over the PA yesterday afternoon saying that no matter what - the Regents would not be canceled!! We don't have a makeup day on Friday - we have the first day of the new semester!!!
I'm not so concerned about the students making it - obviously they live right there. I'm concerned about the REST of us having to get it!!!
