Anyone honeymooning in Mexico?

My FH and I are planning on going to Mexico for 2 weeks for our HM, one week at a really nice resort and the next week at my parents time-share. We're thinking of doing Acupulco and Puerto Vallarta, definitely the Pacific coast. Any hotel or other Mexico destination suggestions? We considered Cabo, but it can be really cool there in October, especially at night.

Re: Anyone honeymooning in Mexico?

Our homeymoon decision right now is a coin toss between Mexico/Napa Valley or Italy. However, if we DO go to Mexico, we are going to stay at La Casa Que Canta.

What a place!!! Just outside of Ixtapa. Did you ever see 'When A Man Loves A Woman' w/ Meg Ryan & Andy Garcia? That's where they go on vacation. Infinity pools, gorgeous rooms, great food, they even hand-decorate your bed with flower art everyday. We'll be going in November & the average temperature is 85*. Just go to the website, it looks Sooooo Yummy!

I love it there...it isn't touristy (well except on mem day and labor day) and the locals are SO nice...there isn't any of the ass pinching you get other places...

Mayan Palace
they have a few all over Mexico...but I have only seen the one in Puerto Penasco

Re: Anyone honeymooning in Mexico?

Our time share is with the Mayan Palace! We haven't stayed at it yet but it's supposed to be awesome. We were thinking of staying in the one in Nuevo Vallarta because it's away from the main tourist area, but there's a shuttle boat to the one in Puerto Vallarta that's central to town. We were most likely looking to stay at a nice hotel in Acupulco. I've heard great things about Las Brisas. Has anyone stayed there?

the one in puerto penasco is in the middle of nowhere...you will never see stars like you do there...you can actually see the milky way from inside out

Re: Anyone honeymooning in Mexico?

If I had to guess, the ones in Nuevo/Puerto Vallarta must be beautiful because they're both fairly new. My FH and I like to chill at the beach/pool by day and do a little partying/dancing by night, which is why we want to go to places that are a bit touristy so we can have it all!

then Puerto Vallarta sounds good...

I know there are dance places inPuerto Penasco...but it is just when the Spring Breakers come...they make enough money in like 4 months...that they can close for the rest of the year

Re: Anyone honeymooning in Mexico?

We honeymooned on the Pacific coast of Mexico- Zihuatanejo- where they go at the end of the Shawshank Redemption - it's about 150 miles NORTH of Acapulco. We loved it- very cozy, clean, people are amazingly nice. We spent the days on the beach or on a boat fishing and our nights eating dinner on the beach with our feet in the sand. We even got massages on the beach- $10 for 50 minutes!!!!!
