Did anyone go engagment ring shopping? Where did you girls go?

we got my e-ring and both of our wedding bands at elsa's in farmingdale. they are awesome to deal with. i think they might be a vendor on the boards, too.

we went to the karat shop and zales just to look around and see what looked nice on my finger. but in the end, we went to a private jeweler and had one made up. i think though for plain bands, we will go to someplace like zales or baily binks,etc...
i do recommend, however, gemport in northport. they have beautiful high quality rings!

FI got my e-ring at a place in NJ'

For my band we are going to go back to the place in NJ and to a place owned by a guy named Murray Kirsch who is located at Bowery & Canal in Manhattan. He's inside the NY Jewelers excahnge, booth #1. I heard he is AWESOME!!!

I feel in love with a scott kay ring at Bailey Banks and Biddle, DH had it made for me at a jeweler in Port Washington.

Murray Kirsch, he is located in Manhattan, but well worth the trip. Wholesale prices & he sells gorgeous loose stone and settings.

We went to Fortunoff's, Tiffany's, London Jewlers and Bailey Banks and Biddle. Try on EVERYTHING even the ones you think you wouldn't like. I never wanted a round stone, always dreamed of a princess. I didnt like the way the princess looked on me and I loved the look of the traditonal round. If you do a search under e-rings for engangement rings, alot of the girls posted there beautiful rings. Take a look to get ideas.

Engagement ring shopping? What happened to the old fashioned hints at what you like, and let it be a surprise? I guess that isn't very big anymore.

actually we did not go shopping. he asked questions about rings and what I like, but he did it all himself. i figured this is a tradition i want to keep. i loved the fact that he picked it out for me, it made it mean that much more to me.

We went togethr. Fh is not big into surprises- it stresses him out. He'd be crushed if he bought something I didn't like, but I wouldn't care what it looked like, but he wanted it this way, and I'm never one to turn down shopping!

We went to Fortunoff, Whitehall & some other jewelery store that is related to Zales ( in the Westchester mall) but we bought it in Zales. We were on our way to Tiffinany's actually, but stopped in & saw something we liked.

He wants to go together....He knows what I like...jsut wants it to be perfect...whatever he chooses I know Ill love...bc he would feel more comfortable with me picking 3 and him choosing one of the three.....it was really his choice....i dont know when he is going to do it...he accually suprised me and said he wanted to go this weekend.....I thought this would happen in may when i graduated from college...

I was given a visual.. the visual was me with my FW foot in my a$$ if I didn't get her the right ring. nah... Just kidding.

Seriously, she gave me an idea.. which was a good thing becuase I could have gotten something way different.. She liked what I got. But I totally hear you about the surprise thing. I think the same way.

He got my ring in the city in the diamond district but we did go ring shopping so he could get an idea of what i liked.

Me too! We went looking at the Commack Jewelry center and then all the jewelry stores in the Smithhaven mall to get ideas. Then he had one made in the diamond district based on what we liked.

We went ring shopping to get an idea of what I liked. We went to Littman's in the South Shore Mall (my aunt works there) and that's where he wound up getting my ring....he designed my setting with my aunt's help.

Besides looking at a few circulars, FH and I never really went shopping, the only ering I ever put on was my own! But the week before he proposed, randomly I found a pic of a ring I really liked, FH had already bought that same ring for me!!!
