wedding insurance covers you if for some reason your wedding is cancelled, other than change of heart..like if there is a hurricane or a blackout or something. It covers a certain amount that you can choose, for the reception hall, loss of deposits, wedding photos, etc.check out www.wedsafe.com

go to www.wedsafe.comI would think that as soon as you enter into a contract with any vendor insurance could be used.
Please read the fine print, though, there are certain things that are not covered.

We went through wedsafe.com although there are others, like firemans fund or somehting like that. my inlaws2b insurance company and our reception hall gave us info, too. when i asked our reception hall lady if it was necessary she said it was the smart thing to do. we booked and a week later took out insurance. it is a one time fee of anywhere from $150 to $350. we got the inbetween one and feel that if it is a waste, it's a waste but it is a waste that i feel peace of mind with. you insure your car, you insure your house, you insure your ring, insure your day!!!

I think it's a really good idea, in case something horrible happens. Spending $170 to cover a $16,000 event is a no-brainer to me. Remember you only really have to cover the deposits - if your wedding is postponed due to most things other than cold feet (Weather, God forbid, terrorist attack), most vendors will work with you for the payments that were due at the wedding.Welcome New Vendors
