One-Night Weekend Getaways at Mohonk Mountain House!
For winter fun or for a romantic getaway... for time together as a family or some much-needed time alone... a night at Mohonk will renew body, mind, and spirit! While we usually require a two-night stay on weekends, Mohonk is delighted to offer the following dates for a very special one-night weekend getaway:
Winter Celebration: Native American Traditions--Friday, January 30, or Saturday, January 31, 2004.* Experience the best that Mohonk has to offer for a winter getaway, along with Native American dance, crafts, and storytelling; bird watching and animal tracking; and all that's wonderful in the winter woods! After dinner on Friday, the Ahenakew family will present an evening of Traditional Native American Music And Dance. On Saturday, evening entertainment will be full of Star Stories and the Night Sky as you venture outdoors to see sparkling constellations, then come back inside for treats, tales and more. The special rate (based on double occupancy) for this one-night getaway is $175.00 per person, or $210.00 per person for a Victorian room with fireplace. The single occupancy rate is $250.00; a Victorian room with fireplace is $320.00. (Tax and service charge additional on all rates.)
Especially for Couples Weekend-- Friday, February 6, or Saturday, February 7, 2004.* During this romantic weekend, indulge in a wide variety of activities and entertainment designed with you and your special someone in mind. Become invigorated by the brisk outdoors, enjoy ice skating in our award-winning Victorian Pavilion, or indulge in a relaxing couples' massage. Richard and Antra Borofsky, co-directors of the Center for the Study of Relationship in Cambridge, Massachusetts, will teach exercises and imagery techniques to increase your communication and intimacy. Join in Friday's "Newlywed (and Not-So-Newlywed!) Game" or dance the night away in each other's arms on Saturday!
President's Weekend-- Friday, February 13, or Sunday, February 15, 2004.*
Take some time out to renew and refresh during this holiday weekend. In addition to all the great family-oriented winter activities at Mohonk, children ages 4-12 will have a chance to make new friends when they participate in Mohonk's fun-filled Kids' Club!
The Art Of Chocolate Weekend-- Friday, March 5, or Saturday, March 6, 2004*
Discover the latest in chocolate cookery and confections; learn about different fillings; and, best of all, enjoy chocolate in dishes served throughout the weekend and at lectures, turn-down, check-in, and more. Build a chocolate house, or get to the bottom of a chocolate murder mystery-- there's even chocolate for breakfast! Sample some of the world's best chocolate in a world-class setting.
Garden Dreams Weekend-- Friday, March 19, or Saturday, March 20, 2004*
Beat the final days of winter with daydreams of spring! Our knowledgeable and inspirational program leaders will help you get your hands in the dirt and your head in the clouds. Our schedule is once again packed full with a myriad of gardening topics that you have requested, including hands-on workshops in herb garden construction, floral arranging, and container gardening, as well as an important discussion of environmental issues.
A Celebration of Readers and Their Favorite Books Weekend-- Friday, March 26 or Saturday, March 27, 2004.*
While curling up with a favorite book is like a visit with a long-time friend, discovering a new "read" has all the excitement of a first acquaintance. Meet other book lovers and chat with authors Michelle Blake, Mark Childress, Mat Johnson, Binnie Kirshenbaum, Olaf Olafsson, Mickey Pearlman, , and Jane Smiley. Come alone and make new friends, or come with your book club-- but above all, share your favorite literary moments!
