IWe are staying in a standard room in the Garden City Hotel. For me, after such a special day - I wouldn't want to go home like every other night. JMO

is it his parents house? then NO WAY!!!!

if this is where you are going to be making a home...I would say OK...but why not get the treatment at a hotel?

We are going home to our own bed. We dont even lived close to our reception site, but have a town car taking us through the limo company. why spend $$ you don't have to. It is the same privacy, but with all your own belongings...

We are staying home. Why pay all that money when you will be getting there late and have to be up early the next day for your honeymoon. I rather save it. JMO.

Still debating on this. We have our own house so we do have the privacy, but IMO it won't feel like our wedding night at home. I can see it now...me going on LIW and him going to playstation

Stay in a hotel...but tell me what ones are around there because I need one too!

I know courtyard Marriot is there...just wondering if there is anything less pricey.

Re: Fiance lives down the road from reception hall.Should we go "home" on our wedding night or stay in a hotel?

I think the only problem with staying at the house is if they get prepared for the wedding there. You know what your house looks like after rushing to get ready and running out the door everything is all over the place in the bedroom, the bathroom has stuff all over the place, at least that is what my place looks like when ever I end up going someplace nice.

I just want to go back and relax and not worry about straighting things up afterwards.

IF no one is going to be getting ready there then I think it is a good idea and save the $$ for the HM.

We are going to our own place. We have to get up about 4am to leave for our HM so why pay for a room for a few hours. JMO

Only if the budget will not allow it, if it does... DEFINITELY stay in hotel. there's no reason to go home.. like the others said.. contniue this experience. It'll be like no other night.

We went back to our house. I didn't need the added pressure of packing an overnight bag. We just wanted to be in the comfort of our own bed and with our pooches.

Im going against all odds and saying stay at home. I've asked every one of my friends who has gotten married and they all say it isnt worth it. They all said by the time they got to the room, they counted all their money and went to bed. Plus after such a long night, I would want to be in my own bed.

Re: Fiance lives down the road from reception hall.Should we go "home" on our wedding night or stay in a hotel?

i can agree with both sides on this issue. i stayed at the marriott and they upgarded me to a suite and it was lovely and all with breakfast and bed. but i also can see just wanting to spend the first night as husband and wife in your own bed. its all personal choice and if you think the extra expense is worth it.

I Pricelined our hotel room - we got the Huntington Hilton for $70. It's not a suite, but I'm not spending $300 either. You can try that.

www.biddingfortravel.com - people post winning Priceline bids and hotels they've stayed in.

Re: Fiance lives down the road from reception hall.Should we go "home" on our wedding night or stay in a hotel?

We're in the same dilemma, our wedding day will run officially from 130pm-7pm now add in the extra hours pre wedding and you are a***d out tired at the end of the day....besides I'm a compulsive person...I would need to come home get my things together and be out the next morning for our honeymoon....I think you'd be very tired at the end of the day....if we were finishing earlier I would have been on a flight to the Caribbean that night (but there are none I checked - we could escape only to PR but that is a last minute idea) PR I would do out of JFK only if I were leaving on a cruise our honeymoon night and morning would be there in PR because the cruise leaves at 10pm the next night so I could get in a day of shopping see I'm rambling now my mind is out of control...thats why I need to come home and start fresh the next day...plus I would not want to forget to pack anything and I would like to secure everything before I'm away from home for almost 2 weeks
