Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I just started to have a little extra time to pick up reading leisurely-which I havent done in years, and wanted to get some suggestions on a good book to get into-a lite read-not one where you really have to follow a confusing storyline-I think I must have ADD, because I always get bored on like,page,40! After seeing it so much on this board, I went to Davinci curse website-it seemed so involved! Thanks in advance for your response

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I just started reading Harry Potter books and I am thoroughly enjoying them. Very easy to read since they are geared to young people but the story & characters are strong enough to grab your attention.
Olivia Goldsmith (more comedy), Nora Roberts (romance) & Mary Higgins Clark (mystery) writes good stories with strong female characters.
I am a big fan of James Patterson's Alex Cross books & John Grishams lawyer books.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
Thanks Chris! I will look into some of those. I guess I should further say that I am interested in an easy-read spiritual book( that makes me sound like Im looking for a book with large print!) I just like to finish a book and to have learned something from it. I am going to pick up coversationsw/god based on another friends suggestion.

Tuesdays with Morrie was a very good book. It's really short but reminds you of what's important.

Yes!!! I love the Potter series, but books 3 & 4 are the BEST! Not very spiritual though Lol...hmm. That's really not my thing, but I'll agree with Christine, Tuesdays with Morrie was a great book, it really makes you think about what's important in life.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I really liked The Girl with the Pearl Earring.
Also, one of my all-time favorite books happens to be The Bridges of Madison County. I know, this might sound corny. Even if you saw the movie, I think the book was a million times better, in terms of stirring emotions and believing the plight of the main characters.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I LOVE all of Marian Keyes books. They're easy to get into, follow and stick with. I hate having to think too much when I read too. I did enough of that in school. Now I just want to read for pleasure.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
The Harry Potter series
The Red Tent
Longitude by Dava Sobel (I had to read it for a work related thing - but it was good)
Celestine Prophesy - kinda weird but easy to read
The Alienist - by far one of my favorite books ever
Da Vinci Code
those are the ones I've read over the past 2 years, oh and most of the Anne Perry books about Thomas Pitt. Other than that I forget the names of the books I read.

I couldn't get into it but I am reading "Lost & Found" which is kinda of the same vein...forget the author and it's in the other room but it's new. About UK female lawyer that loses her diary and the American/Londoner that finds it - although more goes on than what the back of the book leads you to beleive. It's quite good.
