Do you think I am crazy to ask my mother to stop

smoking in the house (Where I will be getting ready) a week before the wedding? I am nervous that my white silk gown we ordered will turn yellow and I don't want to smell like smoke on my wedding day.

maybe you can ask her to stop for a bit longer than a week......

Makes perfect sense to me. However you might want to try to get her to stop for longer than that as plaebride said.

I don't think you are crazy to ask, but just from how I know my parents are about their right to smoke in their own house...blah, blah, blah...if I asked it would probably be wwiii...but good luck!!!

Palebride it is funny you say that because when I was talking to her about this my 8 year old brother was sitting there and he turns to my mother and says you should stop now. I know she wants to stop smokin but it is hard for her, and I would like if she stopped maybe 2-3 weeks before the wedding but I think I am pushing it and am being fair with asking for a week. Thanks guys

Yes I won't smoke the week before in the house even though I know the dress won't turn yellow...but for my pumpkin I'll do it ok?

I don't think your wrong at all, in fact I doubt I will be getting ready at my moms house because her boyfriend smokes and I don't want to smell like it!!

I have been stressing the same thing!!! We thought we were getting married at the hall.. so I was going to get ready there... but now that we are getting married at the church and my mom does live up the block - Im getting ready there... and it smells like smoke all the time!! I really want to ask her but I know she'll be so stressed out she'll do it anyway plus its feb. its a little cold to go outside
My other option is getting ready at our apt. but its a little small and my moms house is nicer for pictures

i was just going to say there is also a "true air " thing or something, and it helps to get rid of smells like smoke in the house... you plugg it in...
