MOB & MOG Colors

Who is suppossed to get their dress first, my mom or my fiance's? I thought my mom was to pick her dress and color, then his mom was to coordinate with her. Well my FI's mom bought hers' this weekend. My bridesmaid's dresses are periwinkle, and she got a lilac dress which is fine by me. The question is, what color should my mother's dress be? She was hoping to get something similar to a lilac, but I don't want them in the same color. Any suggestions?

mom can get a wine color...or in that family...or dusty rose is pretty too. First see what colors normally look great on her then try to pick one that complements what you are in. usually mom buys her dress first..but oh well!

We did get to dance to our song twice- once after we were introduced..into the reception...and again after the cake cutting. "at last" version sung by Lou Rawls.

I didn't even think of that color. I thought it was suppossed to be in the same color family as my bridesmaids dresses. I guess we will just see what looks best on her. Thanks Phyl.

Hi. I thought the MOB got their dress first. MY MOG has been great and waited for my mom to pick a dress and color. my mom is wearing black (so are the BM). I told both my mom and my fiance's mom to wear what they like and feel comfortable in. I didnt care about colors.

Would you mind telling me (us) how it went?

It was the best day and the happiest day of my life. I would do it all over again.

Your mom should pick first but if it worked out this way, no big deal. Your mom should be in whatever color she loves. SHe doesn't have to be in the same color family as the BMs. My mom wore silver gray and looked gorgeous. My BMs wore black.
