Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

Our hall recommended Pro-Line and Sherwood Triarte. We visited both the other day and were more impressed with Sherwood. Does anybody have any other suggestions...we will also check out Ferlise Studio and Arriana Studios in the next week. Anybody hear of Creative Compositions?

Any pricing info would be helpful as well. We are looking for photo & video package that includes DVD.

Anybody have heard of magazine albums and have thoughts on it? Price?

Anybody have heard of photo journalism and have thoughts on it? Price?

Thanks & Best of Luck to All
MMA & RC

Re: Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

Well, many of the brides on this site have/use photojournalistic photographers. I heard good things about Sherwood, but I've never seen them. I think some brides on this board may have.

I am using Twelfth Night Photography. He is VERY reasonable and extrememly talented.

I would stay away from Ariana studios. I haven't heard good things about them.

Good Luck

Re: Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

I am using Creative Compositions for my wedding. They are highly recommended by posters on LIW and by Oheka. What really sold me was how wonderful they all were. They spent an enormous amount of time with us. However, they are pricey.

I am using Motion Pictures Inc. for video. They do a documentary style video. They are also amazing!!

Re: Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

I went to visit both proline and sherwood. I am also getting married at a scotto venue. i loved sherwood's work, but they were a little pricey and a little 'snobish' i felt that i wouldn't be able to handle having them around all day.

we ended up booking with fine art. we dealt with jimmy. he was great. i felt really comfortable. there are a variety of packages and he works with you as well. we were able to take away and add to packages.

a friend of ours has used them and so far is very happy. we saw her dvd the other day and it was great.

I did not book my photo and video at the same place...we booked with Candlelite Video. We really liked them and heard a lot of good things about them.

Re: Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

Hi there! I am getting married a few days after you at the Chateau Briand!

I cant really help with the photographers as I am currently researching them myself.

If you want even more help & opinions, I say do a search on this board, type in photographers or the name of one of the places you want some feedback on.

Good luck! Oh and what room do you have at the Chateau? I am in the Saturnia for the reception and my cocktail is in the Promenade, or hopefully outside if the weather is nice!

Re: Help Needed Choosing Photographer/Videographer

I've just finished this part of planning and it wasn't easy. It took me about a month and a half and I say a ton of photo/video vendors. I think I can help you out. I would recommend Duet if they still have your date, tons of brides are booking with them. I choose Artisan Photography-check them out, Chuck is very nice and pleasant to work with, he will work with you to come up with what you want. His work is great, he's the one and only photographer so you know you will get him, but he does have the second photographer if needed for your event. I also visited Sherwood and loved their work, but wasn't to thrilled with their service - it's less personal, they have a group of photographers, I can give you more detailed info on all the other vendors that I saw, if you want me to FM you, let me know.
