Travel Agent or DIY HM

I am finding so many good deals on the net for HMs. But someone told me not to book through hotels.com or funjet. Have you heard this too? I cant decide whether to use a travel agent, especially cause Im not in NY and therefore can't meet with any there. Does anyone have a good TA that they work with a lot through email or should I just book it myself online?

I always book trips myself... for me, the planning is just as much fun as actually going!!! I love learning about the place, the culture, the food... and researching hotels too. It depends on the kind of trip you want - most likely an all-inclusive resort type of thing is best and easiest thru an agent, but overseas or trips with multiple destinations I love to do myself. I really like TripAdvisor.com for reviews on hotels, and the Fodors.com message boards are filled with travel savvy people.

If you have the time, i say go for it yourself!!

I use In & Out Travel, the are a vendor on here.
I used them for my HM and good thing I did, they were awesome!! I had to come home from the HM early and they helped alot!

They are great to deal with & have great deals! I just used them again to book my 1 yr anniversary trip!
