Throwing a party- need wine recommendations
I am throwing a party for the girls in my bridal party, so they can meet and get to know each other, as well my mom, and fh's 2 moms. I am having appetizer stuff like hummus, dips, tapenades, quiches, salads etc. What type of wine would be good to complement all of that?

Re: Throwing a party- need wine recommendations
I would suggest serving chardonnay with the types of food you're having. Or even a pinot grigio/chardonnay blend. Luna di luna makes one that is fabulous - a big hit with ladies!

Re: Throwing a party- need wine recommendations
I'd go for a chardonnay and a merlot - basics that blend well. In terms of chardonnay I tend to find the yellow tail a little too young - needs to age a bit longer. I'd go with a Louis Latour, or even though the name is awful Fat B astard.
For a merlot there are TONS of options that I can think of, the ones that immediately come to mind are Blackstone and Georges DeBoeuf.

Love the oaky flavor of the Pindar Sunflower...Santa Margherita for Pinot Grigiot - both of those would go great with what you're having.
I like Fat B too but I prefer a Cabernet over a Shiraz - like Beringer Knights Valley Cab. Mmmm.
