what did you spend $$$ on and now think it was a waste of $$$? I would really like to know and why?For a while I was having c-piece anxiety. Then I got over it and realized I would rather take the $$ we were going to use to upgrade the c-pieces and put it towards the HM in Hawaii.

There really isnt anything I thought was a waste..but I was fairly anal about making decisions. The only regrets I have is not spending more on a few things that would have been nice to have now. But they are small things.Oh, i take that back. I spent $300 on a matching wrap and i never wore it b/c it was so warm that day. So that was a waste of money.

But the wrap looked pretty Stef
The ONLY regret I have is about my cake. I had a bad feeling that the Hamlet's bakery would screw it up and they did!!! So I wish I had paid an outside Baker to do the cake.
I don't regret any of my purchases. I had a custom cape made and I loved it and wore it during the day because it was very cold that day.

I don't think I wasted any money. I think we spend pretty wisely on our wedding.

the one thing i sorta regret is the disposable cameras for the tables. if you are on a tight budget, you definitely do not need those!! most of the cameras were not used, and those that were, 75% of the time, the person forget to use the flash. i do have a really nice pic of DH's cousin's crotch, though.

Re: After reading the, 'I did some posting on the BHB board today' board, I would like to know ...
I spent a small fortune
But, looking back, I can't think of anything that I consider to be a waste...The majority of our budget went towards Oheka and, it was, without a doubt, money well spent
ETA: There were, however, some vendors that I felt did not give me my 'money's worth.' I don't consider that money a waste, just, looking back, I think it would have been spent better elsewhere

Bathroom baskets...I made and remade baskets for the bathroom time and again spend a bunch of money on ribbon and trim and braided rope to make the baskets look nice and after all that I think maybe one thing was used from the baskets!Things I wish I could have redone...
My dress - too tight on top - my boobs kept gushing over the top and looked lame. I aslo should not have gone strapless. I wish I picked a dress with sleeves. (This still bothers me ALOT!)
My hair - I wish I wore it down after all that time growing out a short hair cut.
My veil - I wish I took it off at the reception
Grrrrr!

Michele - The wrap never saw the light of day Michele
I had disposables and we got some great photos from them. So I think it a crap shoot whether they are worth it.
I would have definitely picked another florist but thats not really wasted money as much as it is a bad vendor.

For me it was my gown. I loved it and it was beautiful. But I now have a gown I spent $$$$ on that will probaly never see the light of day again. I could have cut the cost in half and hired a band or a second photographer or something.I would sell it but DH is too sentimental about it still

I can't think of a place that I feel I wasted my money. Like Stef - I bought a shawl that I never wore but I left the atgs on and kept the receipt but just was too lazy to return it. It is sheer ivory - so it maybe able to be used in the future.I agree with above - I have one vendor that gave me bad service (Coach Buses - for my shuttle buses) but the buses were needed and I don't regret having them.
(PS Like Stef, I got some great pictures from my table cameras. I was so glad I got them.)

Believe it or not, I regret not spending MORE on my band. If we had sprung for the extra 2500 and hired the first band we saw, I would have had a the band I booked acutally show up!

Hmm I regret not fighting with Paul and getting the band that I wanted. I short changed myself with that. But then I probably wouldnt have been able to go to Italy on honeymoon. So thats the way the ball rolls

There is not one thing that I can think of that we wasted money on. It's funny I look back now and realized we had everything we wanted and I don't feel we overspent on anything.I do wish we would have spent a little more on a couple of things especially the video.

that's so funny - I'm the complete opposite! We spent a 'typical' amount of money on each vendor - we did not go overboard but not cheap out on anything. But I did have second thoughts about my dress....girls spend easily three times the amount I paid, and I wondered - if we went all out on everything else, why not the dress too?!
But then again, I kept telling myself you only wear it for 1 day - and I still loved how it all turned out

We didn't cheap out on anything either - but the dress was the one expense I considered an indulgence and one I could have done with out.
Your dress is beautiful and you looked gorgeous!

One thing that was a waste of time more than money was my search for the perfect shoes. No one saw them, they hurt like hel! and I ended up taking them off. They are now in the bottom of my closet, never to see the light of day again
Other than that, it was all money well spent. Sure, I could have spent less on flowers etc, but the day was perfect to me and I am glad that I spent the money to add those details to the day.

Happily its so funny you say that b/c my shoes are in so many photos and a lot of video I was glad I got ones I was happy with. (luckily i got them for $30 on huge sale but still, i searched forever). So now I tell brides to make sure you really like your shoes b/c you will be seeing them forever!I think its really interesting how everyone has such different experiences despite having similiar sort of events.

I would have to say that I also spent my money wisely...where I wanted to splurge we did and I have no regrets...my main thing was having NICE wedding pictures and I'm glad we went with the photographer that I loved and didn't skimp. The only other wasted money went to bubbles that were for the end of the ceremony...I forgot to give them to my nephews to hand out and no one used them.

Re: After reading the, 'I did some posting on the BHB board today' board, I would like to know ...
This is really interesting!Steph- I totally agree about the table cameras being a crap shoot. I got some great pictures from some of them, and I only have 5 shots on one camera. I refused to develop it until I use the entire thing up, so there are a few pictures out there that remain to be seen.
I don't think it's the $$ in the end. I had a really tight budget and did the best I could given that. I spent my own savings on my pictures, as that was most important to me. Had the dress made... if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing as far as $ is concerned.
(As I told you on Sat. at Timber Point)... my regret is telling too many people (family) what I wanted and what we were doing. Everyone has an opinion, granted, but it wasn't everyone's wedding. If I had to do it all over again- I assure you I would not discuss ANYTHING, especially the seating arrangements, with anyone but DH and my Mom.

Re: After reading the, 'I did some posting on the BHB board today' board, I would like to know ...
Let's see...I got a bus for some family and out of towners staying at the hotel and only 9 of people used the 50 passanger bus..so I dont think I would have gotten that..but it was not that much money and we had fun running down the isles on the way to the after party so I guess it wasn't a complete waste.I wish I trusted my gut instinct on some 'friends' and did not invite them...I would have been able to spend the money on other things.
I loved our table camera's we got a lot of great great shots from them!
Everything else I loved and would not have changed.
