BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry UPDATE INSIDE
I won my wedding cake knife and serving set on Feb. 13th...the seller only accepted money orders and like an idiot I didnt check the feedback, which I should have done, there are a TON of negatives about paying and not getting your item won...well it seems to have happened to me...I emailed the seller after about 10-14 days, tried 3 times and got a response...item was shipped..waited, e-mailed again..when was it shipped? Received an e-mail days later saying 'what is your address jerk, I will check...and dont make me leave negative FB on you...'Jerk..negative feedback..***? So, I notified e-bay and they said they'd look into it...then I emailed my address to him..nothing, sent another one today and he wrote back..'what is your question moron?'
It's been almost a month, I guess I'm out $25 ( thank god it wasn't more) but I'm so FREAKING MAD....this idiot is just adding to my stress...turns out from his ratings he leaves negative fb on almost everyone , a lot of peopl still have fraud cases against him and I'm guessing I'm just out of luck...sorry had to vent about this, it's so frustrating!!!
Update:
LIW is the BEST!!!!!! I received the sweetest e-mail in the wrold saying they are so sorry about this that they are sending me a free set ( a server/knife) I was blown away by it, even though it's a 'small thing' in the big picture, it just really made me smile and forget about all the horrible people in the world that try to get at you!!
THANK YOU LIW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom had a problem recently when she won pots for over $200... and never received it for like 2 months... no email responses from the seller... she contacted EBay and they did an investigation.. she payed by Paypal and got most of her money back except a small amount (cant remember exactly how much)... I don't know about money orders though.. definately complain about it!

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
wow...i am trying to get into the habit of checking ratings on sellers before buying...i don't like to buy from someone with less than 98%... but it is so easy to get excited by the purchase...good luck!

Idiot! I'm so sorry this guy's being such a d*ck. Money orders are a hard one - with Paypal you can do a chargeback, but Money Orders you can't get back.so sorry again!

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
Yep - I learned this lesson too.NEVER SEND CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ON EBAY. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!
People who only accept those forms of payment are often frauds. I feel bad because there are little old ladies who also want this form of payment but it is too risky.
I bought a gift card on ebay and was almost arrested because when i tried to use it - I found out the gift card was purchased with a stolen credit card!!! When I went to use the card, I was asked where the card was purchased and I admitted I got it on ebay. Had I not admitted to it - they would have probably called the police. I was contacted by the stores corporate offices and reprimanded and later told that buying gift cards on ebay is illegal and the stores do not have to honor them (though how would they really know) Buyers do, however, sell cards and then call them in lost or stolen. They get your money and send you the useless card. Then they have the company send them a new one.
For my case, I put the charge in dispute with AMEX and got my money back. I had been burned once with a money order and ebay does not get involved.
People think there is some security because ebay asks for credit card info when you register. Did you know that it is never verified so you can give any fake credit card or address and still register as a seller? Ebay told me this themselves.
Also - I have to say that whenever I hear people say, ' I WON this on ebay' I am little confused. You didn't win - you bought something sight unseen for a lot more than anyone else was willing to pay. Just keep that in mind. I'm not saying there aren't deals on ebay - just that in order to 'win' you have to pay more than anyone else thinks the item is worth. Just something to keep in mind.
File a complaint immediately with ebay but you won't get any money. Their fees for trying to get back your money are usually higher than the cost of the item.
Good luck and be careful!

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
Feedback is not a reliable statistic. Most fraudulent sellers sell some small items legitimately to build up their feedback. Then they wait for a big ticket item to make their money scamming buyers. Feedback really is no guarantee. I was tricked by people with lots of good feedback. (65 or more positive ratings)

File for mail fraud at the post office. I hate these jerkoffs on ebay that don't send stuff.

I was ripped off to by someone on e-bay for my bridal purse. I also sent a money order. And recvd the purse. Many e-mails, calls, and feedback later, I filed a complaint with e-bay. Weird thing is this seller never had any bad feedback until mine. After the investigation she was banned.

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
E-bay says they only file fruad complaints against items worth over $25...my payment was $24.50??? It's ok that I lost the money I guess, I'm just frustrated that this person has based on FB done it sooo many times and is still selling and then leaves negative feedback saying I never paid, and item was recv'd...c'mon, wanna kill them for being so mean...live and learn I guess..wont make this mistake twice..still going to use e-bay, just pay pal and be careful!

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
I have recently had a bad experience myself. I bought a Vera Wang gown for my MOH that was supposed to be in 'as new' condition unless otherwise specified. When I got the dress it was COVERED in stains and had armpit discoloration etc. The seller asked me to mail it back for her to inspect. She then sent it right back to me, admitting that she did not notice the stains but would not refund my $75. I maintain that had she disclosed the item's true condition I never would have purchased the gown. I am still trying to decide whether or not to leave neg. feedback. As you can see, I feel for you.

Re: BAD E-bay experience..long vent..sorry
That happened to me 1 time on Ebay...I bought 2 prs. of leather pants and she shipped me the wrong size and told me that if my as* wasn't so fat I would have been able fit in the pants...I finally go a refund a few weeks later and within the week she has tons of bad feedback for shipping fake Coach bags...
But on the brighter side of Ebay I have bought and sold so much stuff of mine - I even financed a trip to New Zealand for 2 weeks with the $$ I made on Ebay - other than that it was all terrific!!
Sorry that happened to you - always check out the feedback...
