Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

You may just want to have a bbq in the summer, and you can give it a beach theme. Have a clam bake, use beach pails filled with sand as your CP and give out personalized beach balls as your favor. I think that would be really cute. FH had a fall theme for ours. My parents rented a tent, we had a fancy bbq, with hurricane as the CP and we gave glass vases wrpaped in fall colors as the favor. Just some suggestions.

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

I had a brunch on a Saturday. It was really nice. We went with the perfect pear theme. We used psaessentials.com for invitations. Our favors were little pear salt and pepper shakers. If you go to the above website, you will see other themes.

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

We're thinking about doing a beach theme as well! We're looking into renting a tent, making all the food ourselves and having it in the backyard. This way everyone can still get together without it costing a fortune.

Does anyone know of any reasonable tent companies? We're also looking to rent tables and chairs!

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

I just have to warn you that tents aren't so cheap. The reason we rented one is because the weather was supposed to be iffy (it was cold and rained most of the day). If you can avoid renting one, you could defintely save a lot of money. If anything, rent the tables and chairs and wait a until a few days before the party to make a decision about the tent. JMO

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

The more we look around the more I'm realizing that. We want to have the E-Party on Saturday, June 26th. The weather is such an iffy thing. You NEVER know what it's going to be like and we can fit everyone inside. Do you think we'll still be able to get a tent a few days before the wedding??

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

We had our E-party 3 months after I got the
We had it in West Sayville at Micheal's- very elegant and awesome food. Private room, open bar, music in the background. Great time! I gave out small frams (wedding theme) with our E-pic in it for each guest. They were a hit. Hope this helps! We didn't open gifts till we got home, invited those who wanted to watch back to the house. Felt it was tacky to do at the party.

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

I am having it in a church basement. It cost me 600.00 bucks to rent the place. My grandma is going to cook all the food and one of the beautiful ladies on this site told me I could get a bartender for 21 bucks an hr (w/o the liquor included). Just to serve. We got a friend to DJ for 100.00 bucks. I wanted to do a floral theme. Any ideas for favors?

Thanks!!

Re: Engagement Party Ideas....

We had ours at Chateau La Mer about 2 months after we got engaged. There was no theme, just a small elegant affair... we did have a DJ though and our favors where hersey kisses wrapped in tulle in a champagne flute.
