Invite OOT guests to shower??

Are you inviting your OOT guests to your shower? I had them on my list because I didn't want them to feel left out, I know that they won't be able to come....but I don't want them to feel bad or obligated. What do you think? Thanks!!

I was thinking the same thing too.. I don't want to leave them out, yet I don't want them to feel obligated to get me a gift either. I know it is not possible for them to come all the way to the east coast just for a bridal shower.

I had thought I should, but then after talking to some family members, decided not too - I was afraid of having people feel left out, but then I figured I didn't want them to feel like I was asking for a gift knowing they couldn't be there. There were a few OOT people who were very close friends/family who were invited because I knew they were planning on being there no matter what.

I will be at least inviting the OOT guests I am close with. For those near and dear, I at least want to give them the opportunity regardless of whether they will be able to make it. I will leave the ball in their court, as they say!

I put any family members from oot on the list and left friends out.

I know my mom did not. We just invited our close family actually. I have never met anyone other than his mom and dad. So I am sure they would be just as comfortable as I would if they were there.

yes we are inviting the oot guests - if they come that is great if not they dont feel slighted

This is one situation where you just can't win. If you don't invite them, someone will be mad they weren't invited. If you do invite them, someone will feel like they were just invited so they will send a gift.
