Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
I know this has been asked on this board before, but I can’t find the thread so I’ll ask again – is it really safe to skip AF on the pill? And more importantly, is it okay to do it two months in a row? I remember reading somewhere (probably on here) that it’s better to skip two months in a row…I would be getting AF pretty much the day of the wedding…so I definitely want to skip next month, but should I skip this month too?Again, sorry if this is too much info…

Re: Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
it's safe.and it's safe from what i understand to do this for up to six months in a row.
but definitely check with your gyno first just to be sure. and make sure you follow up.

Re: Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
When I asked my gyno, she said it was fine but didn't want me to do it for too long - she had me do it the month before and then the month of my wedding. I'll tell you though, it was actually almost more annoying trying to skip it for me becasue I had a lot of spotting - I nocticed it the first month, but figured that it would be fine the next month - but, instead of having AF for the 3-4 days max I usually get it, I had spotting for like 1 1/2 weeks. I wish I had realized it would happen before.

That's what I'm worried about! I thought if I skipped for 2 months the spotting wouldn't happen for the wedding or HM. But now I don't know what to do! I am calling my doctor's office today to ask what I should do.

Re: Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
I think the spotting is particularly a problem if you use tri-phasic pills. I've heard it's not so bad if you are on the regular ones. It's sooo annoying, but still worth it not to have AF for your wedding or HM. And perfectly safe for 2-3 months at a time.

That's good news for me! I take a monophasic pill....

Re: Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
I skip ALL the time....just skipped 2 months in a row for the wedding.....I skipped 2 months b/c if I only skipped 1 month, I would have been PMS'ing for the wedding...NO THANK YOU! Lately I get sooo bloated. So I skipped 2 months...otherwise AF would have come SMACK in the middle of the HM. Can't have that either!

How do you skip?
Instead of taking the placebo pills, you start the next month's pills as soon as you finish the last months....if that makes sense...

Did you really not get any PMS symptoms by skipping two months in a row? As funny as this is going to sound, there’s only one symptom I’d want to still get….big boobs

I still got some, but not all. I was a little moody, but didn't get the bloating which I was dreading. Now I'm back to normal routine and the PMS syptoms 'seem' a little worse than normal and my 'schedule' was thrown off. I feel like I'm giving TMI, so FM me if you need more

Re: Question about the pill - sorry if TMI
I don't know, I'm a little weary about this. I remember I wanted to do this because my period was going to come on my four-day weekends in November and December. I opted not to do it since I read with tri-phasic pills, it's not good to do, and everyone's different. Someone else might be okay, someone else might get a weeklong period and spotting still. You really can't tell what's going to happen for you.I made sure to make sure like a year before because I just skip a blue pill each month which makes it come a day earlier every month, so I can sort of maneuver when it comes.
