HELP!!! I need an italian american band!!!
Hey everyone!I'm having a melt down! I just recently started looking for an italian american band for my wedding--I had my heart set on Oasis (they are awesome--I'm so jealous of those of you who booked them!) but they are booked for our date! I thought 18 months was plenty of time to start looking for a band! Then I called the Carozza Brothers, The Strings and Paris and they are all booked for my DATE!!!!! I've got a appt tonight to hear Imagine, next week to see Armonia and I went to see Heart and Soul last night!
Anyway my question is: Does anyone have a ph# or a website for MGM, Voices, or the Caleps?
I need to have a band that will play great italian music as well as upbeat fun radio music!
Thanks!!!

Re: HELP!!! I need an italian american band!!!
I've been there! It was such a process finding an IA band. We booked Opera 3000 and are so excited, they are amazing. Definitely check them out. As for the ones you asked about I haven't seen them but we accumulated allot of info so...MGM (718) 259-3826 (we never got around to seeing them but heard good things)
The Caleps broke into 2 bands ~The Caleps and Voices (Good luck because we called both many times and never got call backs, but someone on here posted not too long ago about the Caleps saying that they are great. Do a search.)
The Caleps~the guys name is Lorenzo. Call him at his travel agency (718)234-3400
Voices~ Angelo Venuto (718)259-6922
I also recommend checking out Mirage at www.mirage-music.com. They were great. After Opera 3000, Mirage and Carrozza Bros were our faves.
Good luck and feel free to ask me more questions.
Edited to say how funny that someone just posted about the bands you are looking for (same person who posted about Caleps that I mentioned above)!

Re: HELP!!! I need an italian american band!!!
Hi Guys! I just wanted to add my two cents on the topic. My fiance & I are having VOICES (once known as The Caleps) play for our wedding. When the Caleps broke up they split up into 2 bands--- one is Voices who has Angelo Venuto as the lead singer, guitarist & keyboardist (he's the singer of L'Italiano & Tiamo from KTU), his brother Carmelo on drums/MC, his brother Sal on guitar & Lisa the female vocalist from the Caleps then they added a new guy on keyboards. They sound absolutely terrific! As for the other band, it's still called the Caleps but only Lorenzo (guitarist) & Enzo Venuto (keyboards) still remain, the singers (I think the lead singer is the son of one of the original Caleps members), drummer & MC are new additions to the band. They're good but my fiance & I definitely like Voices much much better. No offense to anyone, just our opinions. My fiance is a musician & he's VERY picky about music & has extremely high musical standards by which our band needs to live up to. Anyway, the price for the band was right in line with the other high-caliber bands out there (in the mid $6k range) and we are very satisfied with our decision. Other close contenders were Mirage, MGM & Oasis. They were also very very good but Voices won out hands down.As far as getting in touch with Voices, we had no problems. We left a message & got a call back the next day. I spoke with Angelo & he was very couteous & professional. The phone # is (718) 259-1844 or (718) 259-6922. The email address from the business card is [email protected] but you shouldn't have a problem reaching them by phone. I hope this info helps Congratulations to everyone on your upcoming weddings!!! Let's all hope for beautiful weather LOL

Just to put my 2 cents
I heard that opera3000 is breaking up again! The lead singer used to be part of another band and now he is changing bands again. Also some of the members have already left the group and one of those was his own brother . The other was his cousin on drums . Watch out for price hiking too ! I agree with the others here that the main picks are voices, mgm, mirage,& oasis ! If you have opera, I would make sure they are still picking up the phone!

I have checked it out. There have been no changes in band members recently. If there were changes they occured before we booked them. The band seems to be doing really well and is showcasing again as soon as next week.

Re: HELP!!! I need an italian american band!!!
My fiance & I listened to just about every band imaginable. The Carozza Bros. are pretty good but we just felt that Voices is the best & strongest band that we saw. MGM, Mirage & Oasis were excellent as well but Voices just has the right 'feel' we are going for. Something for everyone young & old to get up & dance to all night. Give them a call at (718) 259-1844 & you can ask them about seeing them perform at a wedding (that's what they do as opposed to doing showcases) & then you can see first hand what I mean by having the right energy. Hope this helps!Welcome New Vendors
