Re: NWR Gift advice

Whose communion is it? Is it a god child, relative, friend, etc. . . ? It make a difference in what you give.

We are going to a first communion in May. Twin neices of FH. One is his god daughter and they will be our FGs. He got them VERY small diamond earrings, and I also got each one a First Communion Madam Alexander Doll.

Re: NWR Gift advice

He is my friend Sherry's son. Sherry and I have known each other for about 22 years but we don't keep in touch. I haven't seen her since 1998. We send each other Christmas cards but that's about it. No phone calls or visits.

That's a good idea. We usually do something along that line. (I also like to give a small 'kid oriented' present so they have something to play with. At that age, a saving bond isn't much fun.)

I know they arent fun but honestly they will appreciate them when they are older. I love it when friends and family give my son bonds for xmas and birthdays, honestly he already has so many fricken toys already... and when hes older he will have the money... the toys will be long gone in the garbage

Re: NWR Gift advice

For a communion I'd give either a savings bond of precious moments statue. It depdns on how close you are. Don't let the fact that it's at Jericho Terrace effect your gift. They can;t expect everyone to bring an expensive gift.

Re: NWR Gift advice

Yes a bond is good - after I graduated college I bought a computer with mine that I received at my communion.

Speaking of a communion at Jericho Terrace, my freakin cousin had her freakin' high school prom at the place I am getting married!

Re: NWR Gift advice

We went to a communion party at Leonards of Great Neck a few years ago... Even though it was at such a nice place they had a very watered down party... no liquor, less courses, etc... It's also earlier in the day so its not as expensive... I believe we gave a $50 gift...
