Did you invite every girl to the shower who was going to the wedding?

I just got an invite to a shwoer for my FH coworker. We are goin to the wedding but I met this girl once!! She is very nice dont get me wrong but why would I be invited?I have a wedding that night so I am not goign anyway but just curioious is this the norm? i didnt invite her to my shower and she is coming to the wedding?

My mom invited most everyone and I was VERY unhappy abou this. I feel like it looks like I am soliciting gifts.

I believe every lady that is invited to the wedding, should be invited to the Bridal Shower. That is supposed to be the norm. But since you only met this person once, I think you'd feel uncomfortable by attending this affair. I feel only those ladies that are coming to the wedding but we whom you are somehow CLOSE to, should be invited to the Bridal Shower.

I think that if someone is throwing you are shower and you give them the list of wedding guests sometimes they aren't sure who is closest to you and should be invited.

To add to this question - I have one.

What if your coworkers are throwing you a shower (My coworkers usually throw them) do you still invite your coworkers to your non-work shower? This is a problem I think I am going to have. I don't want them to have to pay for 2 gifts! But I wouldn't want them to be offended that they weren't invited to my shower.

i asked my mom just to invite co workers and close friends and family members.

I threw my sister's shower and we only invited family and very close friends, like frineds form HS and college, and only one person form work. We invited less than half of the women. I personally wouldn't go to a shower unless I was close with the bride (or groom). Like, my mom was invited to my cousin's wife's shower even though she'd never met her, and I thought that was not only appropriate, but nice, so that the family of the groom could meet the bride. But if you're not close with either of them, I'd probably just not go.

Oh no - you only invite the people whom you are close to. Family and close friends of yours, your moms, your FI or FMIL.
I am having a small shower - just my friends and my mom's friends. FH family doesn't live in the US and they don't do showers where he's from anyway.

I would be insulted if I was invited to a shower for someone I didn't know. I would think they just wanted the gift

I think generally you don't invite everyone to the shower, but that also depends on how many people are invited to the wedding. If you are having a small wedding under 100 people, then sure. But I am having over 300 so there is NO WAY we were going to do a mini-wedding for the shower! So we invited family and close friends, and left out people's wives, girlfriends, etc. who we didn't really know.

For my shower I just really want close friends and family. I would feel uncomfortable if it was a huge room of people that I barely know such as FI's & FMIL's co-workers and their cousins I barely know.

yes everyone invited to the wedding is invited to the shower- but that is just how my fam does it dont know about anyone else

Only the people DH & I knew (fairly well at that) were invited to my shower.

For instance my female co-workers were invited but not the wives of the male co-workers I invited to the wedding.
