Possibly stupid question about groomsmen
Are groomsmen always the same as ushers? Or do you choose entirely separate people as ushers?

Re: Possibly stupid question about groomsmen
You could do it either way. the best man usually stands at the front with the groom & the groomsmen can usher in the guests. We only have one groomsman, so we may enlist my brother as an usher, but I wanst it to be clear that its not a bridal party position- he won't wear a tux, but he'll have a bouteniere, and he was probably going to sit with the bridal party anyway.

Re: Possibly stupid question about groomsmen
That's what I thought, but FH wants his GM by his side before the ceremony - he doesn't want them ushering guests...hmmm...

That's exactly the problem - we only have one groomsman! I'm not sure what to do, but that's an excellent suggestion. Thanks!!

Re: Possibly stupid question about groomsmen
I believe ushers *can* be used in a larger, more formal wedding to seat guests....but the groomsmen also serve this function
