bridesmaids dresses--Did your girls pay you before?

I have a rather large bridal party and I am not aure I will be able to pay for all their dresses and then have them pay me back. I was thinking of asknig the girls for the money before...or possibly using net bride and each girl contacting them and giving their credit/debit card #

Do you think this is ok to ask of the girls and have any of you had expirence with this topic?

BTW I have 8 girls

My BMs left a deposit when they ordered their dresses; then they paid the balance in full when they went for their first fitting.

My MOH ordered her dress at the salon and made the deposit herself.

My BP will have to put their own deposits down and pay the balance. I can't afford to pay for anyone's gown but my own. I'm sure your BP knows this already and don't expect you to pay for their gowns.

we are covering the cost for our girls, but when i have been a BM i have been asked to contact the store directly and pay for it myself...no biggie...

I ended up writing the deposit check for both of my bridesmaids. (The salon did not accept credit cards, and they didn't have a checkbook on them). It will be a bit awkward asking for it back. Had I known, I would have instructed them to bring checkbooks with them in the 1st place.

JMO- You're better off having them deal directly with the salon. It could be awkard later or you might never get paid.

We ordered the dresses directly from the designer's showroom. They required payment in full from all parties before the order would be started. (It is a small company and all dresses are made to order). Each member of the BP paid for themselves.
