What is the proper way to include the name of a deceased parent on a wedding invite?

Mr. Edward Jones
son of Alfred Jones and the late Carol Jones

does that sound right?

i don't really agree with theknot on this one. every invite i've seen where this is the situation has (late) in front of the deceased parents' name. the question isn't whether that person is hosting because the phrase is

mr. jones - son of x and y.

He's still the son of those two people, regardless of who the host is.

that's just my opinion though.
