Ocean City, MD Anyone ever go there?

I am trying to think of a cheap vacation for me and FI for this summer. We didnt go anywhere last year b/c of the police academy and I live for vacations. This year $ is tight (I dont have to explain that to any of you) but I will go crazy if we dont go anywhere. So I heard Ocean City was nice? Anyone have any tips like where to stay, eat or just hang out?

Or if you have another suggestion on where to go... I would appreciate it!

I've been there...But I would suggest you go to Wildwood/Cape May instead...

Ocean City, MD is nice, but, the sand is notoriously grainy and the surf is notoriously rough...

If you've been to one beach town, you've been to them all...So I would go to the Jersey shore instead...It's closer and just better...IMO

My faily used to own a condo there and we went every summer!!! I love it there, but it is a very young crowd. Lots of clubs and mini-golf courses. The restaurants are great though if you like seafood. If you have any other specific questions FM me.

My uncle owns a condo there. My FH and I went a few years ago. We relaxed on the beach, walked on the boardwalk and went to restuarants and bars at night. If you gothere definately go to Seacrets!!!!

When I saw this post I thought it was Ccean City,NJ, of which I just came back and love the area and surroundings, Cape May, Atlantic City.

I went last year for the first time. My sis friend and my friend go every year. Its a huge boardwalk and beach. A few things to do. other areas to visit. Not being a beach person, I wouldn't stay more then 4-5 days. I did a lot of research on line. Make sure to check out the different hotel lobbies for the coupon books. If you do go, you have to go to Dumpsers Icecream and Philip's. We went to another town, found some outlets. We also went on jet ski. There was a lot of water stuff to do and an amusement park- really scary half pike water ride.

My parents have a beach house about 25 miles North of there in delaware. Ocean City is a young crowd, they like to stroll the boardwalk all night. Check out Rehobot Beach, delaware. It is very nice and clean. Lots of families and couples..They have a boardwalk (much smaller than OC). But lots of restaurants and shopping is awesome there!! They also have all the outlets with NO TAX!

I love Ocean City!!! I went with my girlfriends last memorial day weekend. The downside was that it was 'senior week' so every freakin highschool on the eastern seabord was there. But every time I go I have so much fun. If you go, DEFINITELY go to Seacrets!!

I love Ocean City too..we just went last summer..its so much fun and I actually like it better than anywhere on the Jersey shore!!! there are so many great places to eat, you can get great rates on hotels and Seacrets is sucha fun place...they have a zillion bars, the food is good and where else can you lay ona tube in the water and have awaitress bring you your drink in the water??? It doesnt get any better than that!!

Even though I don't know you, I beg of you to please not stay at the Americana Hotel if you go there. My brother died in a tragic accident at there hotel several years ago and they were the most rudest, thoughtless and cruel people in the whole world. I ask anyone I know that says they are going there just to stay away from them. They caused so much pain and heartache for me and my entire family!!
