Do the invitations that you order have to be the same theme and or color as your wedding?

My friend told me that it is not necessary to get an invitation in the same 'theme' and or color just to get something that I fall in love with. The problem is I am not 'falling in love' with anything with roses and or in pink/burgundy. What do you all think?

Not necessarily........ My invites are green but my flowers are pink & purple and the BM are wearing black.

not at all. My BM are in red and my flowers are red adn white, but we are not having red invitations.

Not at all. My invites are purple with hearts and my girls are wearing green.

You dont 'have to' do anything but my color scheme is pink and green so I am going to try to find invites I like in those colors but if I dont then, oh well, I will pick what I like.

If you get plain invitations then IMO it doesn't matter, but I wouldn't get like fall leaf invitations and then have a theme of Disney or something else totally unrelated to the fall leaves.

they don't HAVE to be the same theme and/or color, but i think it's a nice way to tie things together and give a 'first glimpse' of the affair...

I dont think you 'have' to do anything you dont want to. WHatever makes you happy. Its not like if you dont have the invites matching youg going to hell or something.

My girls are wearing a wine color and my invitations are a ivory creamy shimmery kind of color.

I am having the favors wrapped in the same color scheme as the invitations.

I figured that ivory pretty much matches with everything.

my invitations were white and silver and my theme was whiteish/ivorish and gold. Did not matter to me or anyone I know at all.

I don't think invites have to go with your theme. Mine do but I don't think it was important. I just loved the invite

bridezilla- Never saw those invites, where are they from...and I was thinking of this question too, I saw pale purple invites I like.,,our colors are pink and white....

I definitly don't think it has too. Ours tied in some ways, but wasn't really meant to be a theme. It ended up more like a I picked an invite that ended setting a tone for my wedding.

I know they say your invitations gives a first impression of your wedding. IMO I feel your invite should be the same color or somehow coordinate to your wedding.

My invites are from Marsville Letter press. They are a small Canadian company. She has lots of designs and each one can be catered to your liking. For example, my could have come in a blue or green, not just pink.
She is also about $400 cheaper than other letterpress companies that I've seen.
