Re: Wedding Photographers speak

buyer beware!

one of the many reasons i elected to go freelance and not with someone who makes a living off of the wedding industry...

Re: Wedding Photographers speak

That's a really interesting discussion. I understand their need to control the quality of the images out there. It's true though with the digital age that we can reproduce pics pretty easily. I think the photography business is going to change substantially due to this.

I pretty much agree with you. I took a photography class, so I understand the print quality issue, but I don't want to have to go back to the photographer for everything all the time. I am getting my album prints from my photographer though, because I think he'll print the images the best.

Re: Wedding Photographers speak

I certainly don't either! One of my requirements was getting negatives and/or high res images. It makes me nervous to do some of the cropping myself but in the end it came down to finances.

I do like that with digital you get basically an unlimited number of images. I find I blink in 9 of 10 pictures of me so the more the better!

Re: Wedding Photographers speak

that is intersting. Ithink custoemr tend to think they are being ufair, but they are a busines & when they see a source of income diminishing, they have to compensate for that.

I also understand about the iamge quality.
I work for a publishing company ,, ans whne I send flyers to an author & ahte when they photocopy them on there own,and soemitems paste over parts.
That's not the product I made, so I don't want it out there, and associated with me.

My photographer said he will tell us his lab & we can make ot own copies, but I am hoping there isn't a problem if I go elsewhere since I don't live on LI.
My color are film, my B & W are digital-I am pretty sure they are full res.

So that goes agaisnt what those other people posted, but maybe all of this is figured into their costs.

Re: Wedding Photographers speak

I am quite sure there is a site like that for all types of vendors but they seem to be a mere bunch of photgraphers in MA with a website whose copyright expired 2003...however I am quite sure most of the photographers regardless of where they are located globally do as all other retailers and vendors do, make $$$ period. Are they guilty or are we just stupid...Although I'm not a photographer one of my undergrad degrees is in media so I have taken quite few film, tv, radio, advertising and media classes but I would not even attempt to mess around with my wedding photos...I don't profess to be a prof photographer or even a good novice photographer for that matter just an educated consumer.
