Dryer Repair???

Okay .. so now I'm a little confused .. what else is new ..

Over the past week, I've posted about looking for a new washer and dryer .. because we thought our dryer was about ready to break down .. it's making a loud squeeking sound as it spins the clothes.

Well .. my mom has suggested we call somone in to see about repairing it .. and Brother and SIL .. who were also in the market for a new dryer .. ended up getting their dryer repaired instead.

Would this really be a better alternative??

I'm afraid of sinking a hundred or so dollars down on a repair .. then maybe get stuck months down the line again.

And if anyone can recommend a repair person .. it would be greatly appreciated .. in case we end up deciding to call someone.

By the way .. I was reading on another message board .. about regular maintenance of washing machines .. and transmissions and such .. is there maybe something I'm supposed to be doing with our washer and dryer that maybe I'm not doing???? Like getting it oil changes every 3 months or 3,000 miles??!!

If you do get it repaired, go to the BBB website first. I had someone come in and fix my dryer and when they left there was a terrible noise. After complaining and getting nowhere, I went on the BBB webpage and learned they had hundreds of complaints. Now the owner is in jail. Saw it on news 12. We did also have our washer fixed somewhere else and what it cost, a little more we could of bought a new one. Me and my husband decided that if they brake again, we will just buy new.
