need a gift for 30th birthday...

we're going to a surprise party for one of our friends (male)..what should we give as a gift?
i have no clue...

help!!!

gift certificates for sports authority, movies theatres, music stores...etc...

does he like any sport teams? is he into sports on his own? what about a favorite movie? collect anything?

i think if you're not that close, a GC is your best bet.

If you know him real well... don't forget the gag gifts..... viagra..... walking cane..... etc etc.

I turn 30 in August myself. Gift certificates to a sporting goods store would be good. How bout Galyans? They have so much stuff there and he can choose between buying actual sporting goods... and buying clothes/sneakers/etc.

Clothing store gift certificates can be good too. I've been shopping at Express recently... I love their clothes.

I had a surprise party for DH a few months ago for his 30th...here's a couple of cool things he got:

Tickets to Mets Opening Day
Autographed Mets Player (don't remember who) picture
Wine of the month club (for 3 months)...you can also do beer or cigars
Playstation game
Restaurant GC
Clothing store GC
Mini wine fridge
