i found a house i love and im thinking of making an offer

but the taxes are 10 grand and its levittown and i think thats a bit much. my dh likes it but nearky as much as i do and not for the taxes that high lol. we would have to do a lot of work to it and its not cheap for a fixer upper lol. what do you ladies think? i think the taxes may be hig because it has a pool.

Personnally I wouldnt go for it!
We set a limit on what we could afford tax wise because unlike your actual mortgage your taxes will go up over the life of the loan. If you can afford it great but if its a really streatch especially with the amount of work that must go into it, I say keep looking!

thats a bit high.... my parents are paying 10k in taxes and thats in garden city

It makes no sense to pay 'high taxes' on a 'fixer upper'.

Usually you get one or the other. A like new house that has high taxes but needs little maintenance.

An older run down house that has cheap taxes.... but needs work.
