I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

...About my dress!! I know, I know.... they say alot of brides go through this... it's just nerves... yada yada yada....

How do I get over this? I called BR and there's nothing I can do to change my dress anyway... it's already ordered and should be here in July. The only option is to BUY another gown... but I already spent BIG bucks on my gown so IF I were to buy another gown... it would have to be very inexpensive... and FH would probably hang me with it...

So... I could just go try on other gowns which may or may not reassure me about MY dress... I could just go try on my gown again and see if I still love it...

Seeing LauraPete change her mind about her gown so late in the game kind of pushed me to address the doubts I've been having for a while but have been ashamed to admit I searched long and hard for my gown and after all that I'm still not sure? What is wrong with me?

The other thing is that I plan on losing a significant amt of weight before the wedding (about 20 lbs or so) so I was def not where I wanted to be when I ordered my gown and that could also be why I am disenchanted with it right now....

Sorry so long.... what do you ladies think? Anyone else harboring dress doubts or am I the only psycho bride?

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

Youre not crazy. I had a bought a dress and then didn't like it. I tried it on and took pictures and hated the way I looked. It was all I could think about. I complained and was upset for weeks until my friend dragged me to a bridal shop to try on new dresses. I bought a second one I loved and never regretted doing it. I sold my 1st one on Ebay. Good Luck w/ yours!!!!

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

i have my doubts. i just saw your avatar on another post and started to doubt my dress because i loved that one a lot.

but you know what- i would always wonder. even if i were to pick another one that maybe i liked a little more i would drive myself crazy because there will always be another one i like and 'should have tried on'. plus price was a big factor. i wouldn't even try a dress on over $800 because i knew i couldn't buy it.

i guess i'm saying i would leave it. there's obviously something you like about it and i don't think it's worth the stress and money to change. jmo

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

I went through this a couple of weeks ago, but I snapped out of it. I love my dress just as much as I did when I first bought it. I suggest going to try it on again and go from there. If you're really that unhappy with it, than you should go ahead and start looking for a new one. Do make any rash decisions, but do whatever will make you happy in the long run.

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

Jimmysbride I am with you 100% By the way, you are NOT the only 'psycho bride', as you put it . If so I'm in the psycho bride club as well!

I am not one of those brides who had 'that feeling' when I tried my dress on. I was never 100% certain it was 'the one' . I envy those who DO know , but I didn't. I didn't get all teary and noone cried at the sight of me in my dress. But I tried on so many at that point, I was running out of time.. and I did really like it, don't get me wrong.

IT seems like I haven't seen my dress in forever .. I ordered it from Netbride in February and am still waiting for it to come in, supposedly this week. But with two months to go until my wedding, I am panicky! I ordered it late because I just couldn't make up my mind -- but I kept going back to this dress for some reason. Of course as the months have gone by, I've doubted my decision COUNTLESS times. I panic thinking it will come in, I will hate it, and then I will be left with very little time to find another dress!

Similar to what you said, when I ordered the dress I was heavier .. I've lost 20 pounds since January, and I'm wondering how it will fit me now.

Long story short -- I think its perfectly normal to have doubts, especially with people like us that were not 100% certain to begin with. I have seen your dress and I think it is just amazing! Go and try it on again, it'll reassure you one way or another.

As others have said, eBay is a wonderful thing and you'll be surprised what you can find on there , last minute. I've known of a lot of ladies who've sold their original gowns and found another. Ya never know!

Good Luck hon!

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

I was having doubts, after i first saw mine, then just kept lookignat the picture & see all of your dresses ( Espeacilly, AHEM, FELICIA'S!), but then I had to go back to place the order & seeing it in person made me love it again.

I guess it couldn't hurt to look at other dresses now. If yours coemsin & you still don't like it , you'd have to order right away, so its best to have something in mind.
If you can, go look a the sample again.

I remember your search, you came back to this one after a long search, so maybe it really is the one for you!.

Re: I know you guys don't want to hear this... but I'm having doubts!

Its totally normal. I also had doubts, but they went away after a few weeks. i actually started searching online for dresses again. I chose a very unique style dress- not big or puffy. But I remember there was a reason why I chose this dress. Then I started thinking about what it will look like on teh day of with my hair and makeup- and I began to relax.

I vote for trying on the dress- but this time with make up and hair done- see how you feel.
