Best friend prego and due date is my wedding date!

Would anyone else be annoyed? It's her second baby and we have been best friends since nursery school!

I'm actually getting over being annoyed about that - people make their own choices.... But she still says she is going to come to the wedding! She lives 3 hours from the hall so chance are, she probably won't show last minute. I don't want to be stuck paying for them and then they cancel at the last minute b/c she goes into labor (very legitimate reason though)! Any suggestions? What would you do?

My BM told us for rare situations like that they recomend that the person RSVP no & if they happen to show up anyway you won't have prepaid. They'll charge me that night but that's if I meet the min. She said you get people that sometimes show up who didn't RSVP.

I'd be annoyed too, I think.... but there's really nothing you can do, is there? Chances are she's going to miss your wedding because she might deliver prior to your date. If you ask me,better she miss your wedding altogether than go into labor while you are saying your vows!! But you can't exactly count her out because I'm sure if she can make it she will want to.

I guess I would be sad if she couldn't make it to my wedding, but would be happy for her if she had the baby. As for the gift, if she is your best friend, I am sure that she will not stiff you, if something happens at the last minute.

That sucks Im sure she didnt mean to steal your thunder but it must feel like that a little. I would be so upset if my best friend wasnt at myt wedding.

my close childhood friend was due the day before my wedding. she actually had the baby yesterday!!

by no means was i annoyed and i never gave it a second thought as to paying for her regardless of if she was able to make it or not. i've even made accomodations for her if she now chooses to bring the baby with her. if she does bring the baby (which by the way was the only person under 13 we "invited") i doubt she will stay past the cocktail hour. again not annoyed in the least. i'm just happy she and her husband will be able to celebrate part of our day with us.

Yeah, I don't really understand either why you would be ANNOYED at your BEST FRIEND.

I would be sad that my best friend may not be able to make my wedding but it is so exciting that she is having a baby! Im sure that she did not plan to have the baby on your wedding day!

I wouldn't be annoyed, but she should realize she might not be able to make it.
My aunt was pregnant with her 2nd, when we were invited toa weddign in PA, & she stayed home, with her husband & 4 year old, jsut in case ( not sure hwen her due sate was) she had the maybe a coupel of weeks later but she didn't want to take the chance of being early.

My grandma kept calling her to make sure she didn't havethe baby yet. It was funny.

You definitely shouldn't be annoyed but I would understand if you were sad if she couldn't make it to your wedding.

I couldn't be annoyed at my best friend for having a baby on or near my wedding date.

I would be sad & disappointed that she most likely won't be there but the idea of being annoyed would not cross my mind at all.

FYI, from what I hear, For the month before you have a baby you can't travel more than 20 minutes from your hospital- so I don't think she will be coming, unless she gives birth early.

I understand how you would be diaspointed but annoyed? I would be happy for her.

I would pay for her and hope for the best.

My MOH is pregnant and due two months before my wedding.

My best friend (and BM) is pregnant and due two months after.

We already got the dresses, so I hope it all works out. Initally I was a little disappointed...Happy (God knows) that they are having kids...But worried that they would have to miss parts of my special time (ie shower, bachelorette party, etc.) because I would really want them to be part of everything.

I would not apologize for being annoyed. Sometimes you can't help how you feel. My best friend and MOH told me she was going to start trying for a baby at a certain time so that she wouldn't be very pregnant at my wedding, and she went ahead and started sooner. Now she will be 8 months pregnant at the wedding. It did feel like a slap in the face that she knew when I was getting married and lied about when they were going to start trying. It made bm dress shopping much harder, especially since my SIL, another bm, is due 2 weeks after the wedding.

Of course I am happy for her, but it still gets to me. So to all those who are judging and saying how you could never be annoyed at your best friend, well you don't really know until it happens. I thought I wouldn't care that two out of four of my bridesmaids will be very pregnant, but I do care.

I think you should count her as a no, and if she is able to make it then thats great and you can pay for her then.

But it seems like she is trying hard to be there on your special day even though she is pregnant and due that day.

I agree that I would be very sad to not have my best friend be able to share in the day. I also would take into consideration that having a baby is a bit unpredictable and I'm sure she didn't plan to be due at your wedding. I"m sure she's sad she may miss too--she's your best friend--she doesn't want to miss your wedding. This is a whole new life entering the world, though. I don't think I would ever expect anyone to plan their childrearing around my wedding plans no matter who they were.

As it happens my best friend is preggo and due on my wedding date also!!

While I wasn't annoyed when she told me, my emotions were mixed... joy, saddness, happiness, disappointment all wrapped into one.

I was SO sad that (a) she would not be able to be in my wedding party (it was always a given she's be my Matron of Honor when the day came) and (b) even worse, she won't be able to be attend my wedding at all! She lives in Delaware and her pregnancy is high-risk .. there is no way they are going to chance things by travelling, nor would I expect her to.

So no I wasn't annoyed .. it certainly was not planned , and I am thrilled for her and her DH . But I will readily admit I was so very disappointed that NEITHER of us will truly get to share in our respective "big moments" ..

I know that a part of me is going to feel a bit sad not being there for her baby's birth, as well as not having her there on my wedding

My sister is pregnant and due 3 days after my wedding! She was supposed to be my MOH but we decided together that it'd be better for her to make her an honorary guest. She'll be wearing a coursage and sitting in a special seat. I don't want her to put her through all the work that MOH normally do. But hopefully she'll have the baby early and will be able to make it with my new nephew!!!

I wouldn't be annoyed.
If she misses your wedding, it would be sad that she wasn't there to share the day with you. But what a great reason to miss a wedding. A baby!!
Think about it, you'll never forget the baby's birthday, and they'll never for get your anniversary.

Very funny how heated this arguement gets - my sister and I have had many discussions over this as well (she's a new mom!) I think it's hard to say how you would feel unless you are in the situation.
