Re: HELP- anyone commute 8/830am from smithtown northern state to Rt110 or woodbury- hows the traffic? coming home?

Hello Emily!
I used to work @ Estee Lauder as an intern while in college... on Pinelawn Road right off Route 110. I live in Kings Park. I would take the Sunken Meadow to the Expressway. I think the Northern State had less traffic, but once I got to Route 110 that was backed up with traffic, then I would have to drive in this traffic to Pinelawn. The Expressway had a little more traffic but exited right on Pinelawn so that was easier for my job. Sometimes I would watch Metro Traffic and Weather to see for accidents/delays and I would base my decision on that. The drive usually took about 20 minutes. Coming home had a little heavier traffic but also took about 20 minutes.

Are you thinking about moving to Smithtown?

emily - i asked tom about it and he said go for the house - the commute will not be that bad...and getting there from nassau is not bad at all!
now i'm sad though because we almost moved to smithtown.....we could have been neighbors!!!

We live in Commack on the Smithtown border and work in Woodbury. We leave about 1/2 before we need to be at work, sometmes at 7:00 and sometimes at 7:30. Most days it takes 20-25 minutes on the Northern state. Rainy or snowy days a bit longer.
