I'm hanging in there. My mom is deteriorating fast. She is home but I don't think she has more than a few weeks to maybe 2 months left. It is very hard to see someone slowly die. I have been ok all week and this weekend I am starting to feel it. I see things in the supermarket that remind me of being a kid and it makes me sad. I see senior citizens and I get sad that my mom should be enjoying her life. She got sick at 55. Now 66. But I try to look at all the good things. I know many of you have lost parents so I know I am not alone. So thinking of all the time we had makes it better. Still don't know how I will be since I have never lost anyone close to me.

Your mom is in our prayers. I think it is good that you are concentrating in the good times that you had. It must be very hard to see someone you love deteriorate. Remember to celebrate her life and know that by having a loving, caring daughter like you at her side, she has left a tremendous legacy. Sending my prayers and loving support your way!!!

Liz I'm so sorry you're going through this. I lost my father to cancer last summer and it was so long and drawn out. I know how tough it is and no matter what people say to console you, it doesn't seem to help. Just know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong and take care!
