Donation favor wording...OPINIONS PLEASE!

Does this sound absolutely ridiculous and cheesy or too syrupy sweet? There are only 30 or so people who will be at our wedding and we want to thank them for being there by making donations in lieu of favors. Please tell me what you think of this wording. Honest opinions are welcome.

To you, our closest family and friends…
We have been lucky enough to find in each other love and support that will last a lifetime, much like the love and support that we have in you.
Just as important to us as is the support of those we hold dearly is the ability to lend our support to those causes that we hold near and dear.
In recognition of the support that you have given to us, we have made donations in your honor to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the UJA-Federation of Greater New York.
We feel so fortunate to have you in our lives and to have you here with us, sharing the most precious day of our lives.
We only hope that this token of our love and respect for you can help those less fortunate.

i love the wording, did you do it yourself or get it from somewhere? is it in memory of anyone you know, we are thinking about doing that because my FH's mother past away and on ours we are going to put it that it is in memory of her (name) .
is it for everyone attending in their honor?

Thank you, I wrote it myself. It's not in anyone's memory, but the CCFA is an organization that deals with health issues extraordinarily close to us and the UJA reflects our religion and heritage and supports a huge number of agencies that do a lot of good. We are only having 30 or so guests (we had to have a smaller wedding due to a number of reasons), and we are making the donations in the names of our guests.

I think it would be sweet to make a donation in your FH's mother's honor. If she passed away from a specific illness or disease, you could make a donation to that charity, specify why you picked that charity, and make it in your guests' names. Everyone at our wedding knows will know why we picked those two charities because everyone there is either immediate family or our best friends.

The wording seems fine to me!
My father has colitis so I know how bad that can be. I have very bad stomach problems also but so far they say it is just IBS!
