get a good nights sleep, have your outfit picked out, your lunch packed, all the papers you'll need, pens, a briefcase or whatever, directions printed out, maybe take a dry run with fh and get to know your way there and maybe the neighborhood and local food places, make sure your cell phone is charged, car is gassed up, car is in good shape, you know alternate routes in case of traffic, you have breath mints and tampons with you, cd's in your car and maybe get a massage. good luck!

Re: I am starting a new job next in 10 days I am an getting nervous!!
Since I've moved around a lot in the last two years, I've had my share of "first days" at many new jobs. I've found that if I go in with NO expectations and make the conscious decision to just deal with what comes my way AS it comes my way, it really helps. If I did not decide to do this, I would be flipping every time I had something new to do. Take charge of your nerves and just don't give into the temptation of being overcome by them. I wouldn't prepare yourself anymore than you would for any other job you've had. Obviously you want to make sure you have your clothes and what not, but I'm assuming you handle all of those things normally on any other day, so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about all the little details. It only makes the nerves worse! GOOD LUCK!

Re: I am starting a new job next in 10 days I am an getting nervous!!
I start my new job on Monday, but luckily I interned with the company for 7 months. But FH is starting his new position on Friday, never had an internship (I had 4) and he is so nervous! He keeps thinking the worse and imaging terrible things. My advice to him, AND YOU, is like what was already said - dont have any expectations, dont try to over analyze. They hired you because they felt that you were the best fit for this position- your already ahead of the game.
Good luck! (To all of us )
